Well organised, great staff, convenient location.

We really enjoyed our stay at Applewood Hotel. The hotel is conveniently situated close to the beach (6 minutes walk) and the Town Centre shops (5 minutes). Free parking onsite was an added bonus. The room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. The receptionist was very helpful and always had a smile! Thank you for a great couple of days. I would definitely recommend Applewood and will stay again in the future.

The room I was booked in was superb. Staff are polite. Location is convenient. Parking is safe and free

Was ok very quiet heating did work for few hours but did eventually come on the door kept sticking was hard to Open and close, and the shower is very tight not much space, but. Overall appeared clean good free parking and walking distance to the town centre, the TV was great has Netflix and amazon prime and YouTube.

Very happy with service, parking and the condition of the hotel. An area to improve would be the atmosphere. It was very quiet and would be better if the bar stayed open later than 9pm

The staff was really helpful. We needed to check-in late at the last minute and they were very helpful and patient with us. The facilities are very nice.

Lovely hotel in quiet area that’s still walkable to the beach and restaurants. Very clean and nicely decorated, friendly and helpful staff, nice little bar for a nightcap and relaxing with a book!

Great room on the ground floor for a one night stay

We booked this hotel using my clubcard vouchers and seeing the loads of positive reviews of the place. We were excited to have the weekend away together and were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed 😞 on arrival the staff member was lovely, sorted us out and we went to our room. The room straight away had a weird musty smell and it wasn't very clean, I went to use the toilet and noticed dried on poo up the back of the toilet. I felt sick so went to tell the lady. She was mortified bless her. She said she usually checks the rooms have been cleaned but hadn't checked this time. She apologised and said it was a shame as the manager had upgraded us to a bigger room (I had ordered a small double) she showed me two other rooms we could chose from, another big room or the one we initially booked. I checked the cleanliness of both rooms, neither were great, but the lady was so nice , I didn't want to keep on at her so we just went with the one we initially booked (smaller room). The room again was not clean and I felt so grubby being in it. We had no power with the cold tap, it was dribbling out and it was coming out warm and the shower had no power and stayed hot. It was just dirty and not exceptional cleanliness like the reviews all said :( things were rusted, mould in the grout, marks on the walls, limescale etc. the hotel said they provided luxury shampoo and conditioner but they felt like they were watered down and made my hair feel dry.

Absolutely lovely stay. Very well presented, clean, tastefully decorated, comfortable hotel with excellent service at a reasonable price. Really very happy with our stay.

Good location and free onsite parking at this well decorated period guest house run by a nice couple. Budget second floor double room with shower, very small with one side of bed up against the wall - upgrade, slightly bigger first floor room with bathroom offered for £30 and taken! Room clean and bed comfortable but position of furniture poor and bathroom tired (marks on bath, shelf below mirror missing but wall plugs still showing) and noisy plumbing (drain gurgling even when other rooms using their bathrooms!). Bathroom door had a self closing mechanism that made a loud noise when opened and closed. Old building, soundproofing not good as could hear guests and staff in other rooms and in corridor from our bed. Also, advised not to fill water bottle from cold tap in bathroom and to boil water for some reason but host filled water bottle from bar. Did not eat or drink there as within easy walking distance of many restaurants and bars.
