Clayton Hotel Manchester City Centre

Clean, friendly staff. Room had stains looked worn out. Breakfast buffet mediocre. Great location central to everything.

I bought this hotel through Expedia, but Clayton charged me twice I have spoken to the hotel and it’s making it very difficult to get a refund. Plus we stayed at this hotel last year and the hotel was fabulous. but the hotel needs a refit already. The shower didn’t drain properly and overflowed the walls were marked. The Aircon did not work. and most of all the room stunk moldy. and the cleanliness was revolting, there was fluff everywhere, we will not be staying again

Really nice hotel in a very conveinent location. Helpful staff. Rooms are nice.

Limited unloading area. Need to help yourself with the luggages. However, the breakfast was great, lots of variety of hot food.

Nice hotel in really central location. View from higher floors is great, but not for those with vertigo! Staff did check before assigning rooms, to be fair.

Stayed here with my wife for 3 days. Decent hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were good. We had breakfast which was decent for buffet selection. Hotel has a good bar too which was generally busy (sometimes hotel bars can be a bit ‘dead’ and lack atmosphere but this one was good.) Hotel has good location. Easy to walk to all the sights in Manchester. It’s a good value hotel for a trip to the city.

Hotel vlakbij centrum. Heerlijke bedden. Geen last van verkeer (wij zaten op de 4e verdieping. Drie nachten verbleven. Ontbijt was absoluut (£14) zijn geld waard. Zeer uitgebreid en veel keuze.

Overall would stay again. But given that I arrived about 1:00pm thought it was a bit presumptuous to charge a fee to occupy room early (it was optional).

Room was fine for a 1 night stay but its facilities- no space to put anything in bathroom was annoying. No hairdryer in our room and terrible lighting around mirrors etc so hard to see what we were doing. Room was stuffy at night as seems no air control which is not nice. Also, when we asked for extra tea bags they never arrived.

Good central hotel, checked in online and got notification that room was ready early which was a bonus. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very spacious, clean and bed was very comfortable, we did hear some noise from outside as there are a few pubs nearby but by midnight it had gone quiet. I would stay at this hotel again.

Very comfortable beds. Room very clean. Very good breakfast selection with spacious seating area. Close to Picadilly Station and walkable to see the sights. However, we booked this hotel for a short getaway during a hot time, because it says it has air conditioning. Although thermostat set at 19 as directed by staff, room never got below 23 and the system shuts off throughout the day/night and does not cycle back on, so the room heats up. We had to get up throughoutvthe night to turn thevsystem back on each time the room heated up. After our 2nd sleepless night, we reported it to front desk staff who said they'd check it that day and bring us a fan. He explained the air con is centrally controlled (so why have thermostat in room then?). We returned late that night to find the staff did not follow through, the room was very warm, and we had to go back down to front desk to ask for a fan. We reported again the next morning to a different staff who said his colleague must have forgot. Then he said since we were checking out that day, they'd check the air con after we checked out. There was no offer to compensate for our discomfort and no explanationother than "my colleague must have forgot". While customer service was polite throughout the stay, this seemingly lack of regard for guest comfort and lack of follow through was disappointing.

The property was centrally located. We were not offered any VIP benefits as promised. The windows are very small with little view.
