The staff were welcoming before we even entered the hotel - my disabled husband was helped up the steps to the entrance. Our room was very clean, especially noticed in the bathroom. We had a superior room with a sea view. The view was definitely worth the extra cost. Our king size bed was huge and very comfortable. We had breakfast and an evening meal in the hotel in a very pleasant dining room. The breakfast was excellent value. The evening menu is fairly limited and basic but the price reflected that and it wasn’t a problem for us, staying just one night. We would definitely visit again if the opportunity arises. Thank you East Beach Hotel staff.

First room was unusable due to extreme noise all night, and I only got moved the next day after reporting it. The first night was therefore effectively lost and no refund was given.
Also concerning: the hotel took full credit card details, including the security code (CVV), and wrote them down on a piece of paper, which is unsafe practice.
Overall, poor handling of a serious issue and questionable payment security procedures.
Expedia offered only a small goodwill credit, which did not reflect the loss of the first night.

Great location directly across the road from the beach and close to areas of interest (Seven Sisters, Lewes, Battle) We enjoyed our spacious clean room with high ceilings and doors opening to the balcony to let in the sea breeze / fresh air. Friendly staff. Pleasant stay!

The room was ideal ***** for myself as a solo traveller. This top floor room was nicely decorated. clean, secure, facilities perfect and no noise from the stairs/common area, nor outside. Could not fault the room at all.
Decor throughout the hotel generally was very pleasant.
The lift was out of order however it didn't spoil my stay as although one of the agile older generation, was up and down the stairs in no time at all.

The guy at the reception was most unfriendly and made the most unimpressive welcome ever! Even though we booked twin-bed, he made it look like it's a favour to give us one. Few minutes after, he handed over to a lady, and we went to inquire. The lady changed it promptly to twin-bed and transfered us. So the guy was unnecessarily uncooperative! The following morning, our pick up vehicle was running late, and we asked for a delayed check out of 30 mins to an hour, this same guy bluntly refused insisting we would have to be charged. He practically forced us out. Very bad customer service. He is not a credit to the organisation.

The staff were friendly, the reception area, bar and restaurant were lovely.
The room, although superior needed a few tweaks, i.e. a dressing table, bedside lamps, clean windows and maybe paint over the repair that has been done above the door instead of just being rubbed down. Also very noisy from the guests above.
