easyHotel Ipswich

It's clean and cheap, perfectly good for a one-night stay. Tiny room with barely enough room to walk around the bed. Funky hooks but no real storage. I've stayed here a couple of times before and I know what to expect. My main gripe on this occasion was how an overnight fire alarm was dealt with. We all traipsed downstairs when the alarm went off, the member of staff on duty told us it was ok, we could all go back to bed but the alarm might go off again. He explained that there was someone live streaming themself "messing around with fire" in their room. Security were in the process of tracking them down and chucking them out. I have no idea what kind of "messing around with fire" we're talking about here, but to me that is not a circumstance in which guests should be sent back to bed and encouraged to ignore the alarm.

I had an extremely poor experience at easyHotel Ipswich and would not stay here again. Before arrival, I contacted the hotel to add my daughter to the booking but received no response. Instead, I was sent a generic reminder to bring ID, which I did (including my passport), yet no ID was even checked on arrival. We arrived at 9:30pm and were given a room that was not suitable for a family, despite my prior request. When I raised this at reception, I was told the hotel was fully booked and that my message hadn’t even been read. This lack of communication caused immediate issues. I had to book an additional room for the following night so my daughter could have her own space, but she was then unable to check in without me being present, which created unnecessary stress. We were also travelling with a disabled guest, and the parking was a long distance away, which was completely unsuitable. The service was poor throughout. The coffee machine was out of order in the morning, and when I asked about a refund for the rooms due to the issues, I was met with a receptionist who had a very rude and dismissive attitude. I was also surprised to learn that rooms are not cleaned during your stay, which is not clearly communicated and not what I would expect. Due to all of the above, we checked out early (less than 24 hours after arrival) and had to find alternative accommodation. Overall, this was a very disappointing stay and poor value for money. I am currently pursuing a refund

Cheap, convenient and spotlessly clean rooms.

The stay was good, but one day I come to the hotel and they had taken all my belongings from my room down to the reception. They could not explain why they had done this, I find that very strange, I was not checking out that day. I find it strange that people can’t say sorry when they have done something wrong, a bit dissapointed about that. Rest of the stay was very good.

Sadly no water glasses in the room. The room was spotless and hotel central. Unfortunately, the night staff were either sleeping or incompetent as two very loud drinks kept going down the hall and out every 10 minutes. A terrible sleep as I was awoken 6 times.

Didn’t have to park I used public transport. The room was smaller than I expected, and no chair or kettle and limited storage space, shower worked well. I thought it was worth the money as the location was central to the city. Fan in room was noisy at times as were the other guests.

Clean and nice staff, have stayed a few times. And will do again.

Great location in the centre of town, parking nearby and inexpensive. Very good value.

Parking was easyabout a 4 min walk, bed was very hard and pillows non existent. Room was good just small but suited my needs. Only criticism was the bed

More facilities

Basic facilities but very clean and comfortable with helpful staff. Excellent value for money and reasonable cost parking at East Gate car park only 90 seconds walk away. Very central for shopping and only 10 mins walk to Portman Road stadium.

Hotel is well located to the town centre. Room was clean and tidy, shower was decent. Staff were very friendly. Very good choice for a cheap and cheerful budget hotel. 10/10

Cheap and nasty..boxroom

If you get what you pay for then this should cost more. Room is very compact, but it’s extremely clean everywhere. Bed was comfy, staff are helpful

Staff were friendly. It would be good to know before you arrive that a photo ID is required - this is the first time in hundreds of stays in the UK that I have been asked for this. Room was basic which was expected but quite noisy

Obviously basic for the price. Paid extra for a window but this was frosted glass with no view which was full of condensation and mould from damp. There was literally a bed with a small duvet which didn’t cover my partner, one pillow each and extremely limited space. Under the bed had rubbish from previous guests, dust and remote which had been dropped down there previously. Wouldnt stay again.
