Hampton by Hilton Canterbury

I had really high hopes for this stay, having never stayed in a Hilton before but knowing the name and the prestige it carried. Myself and my partner were looking forward to a quiet, restful stay, but it was very much the opposite. The staff were lovely and the room itself was fine in appearance, but I hadn't expected to hear the loud, pounding bass of music from the rooftop bar above from our room, which went on until very late both nights of our stay. The mattress was rock solid, so between the noise and the mattress, it ended up being very much the opposite of a restful, relaxing weekend. We both slept poorly as a result and I spent the weekend with considerable aches and pains, which really soured our trip. I mentioned the noise from the bar upon checking out, but didn't see much point in raising the issues during our stay, as it was likely both issues would not be resolved by being moved to a different room. We were not even on the floor directly below the bar, so I can imagine how much noiser it must have been for other patrons. It was a real shame, as otherwise we would have had a really nice weekend, and all of the staff we encountered were incredibly nice and helpful (and the issues mentioned would be things they would likely have very little ability to change). I'd definitely think twice about booking this hotel and while I can't do anything to change the bad weekend we had, I hope others don't make the same mistake.

The hotel was in a good location very central. The air conditioning was hit and miss, I prefer the option of opening a window for fresh air. Breakfast was average but overall enjoyed our stay in Canterbury.

This is the perfect place to stay in Canterbury! Kind staff, great service, central to everything, well cared for hotel.

The place looked amazing, it was just so uncomfortable sleeping there, the mattresses was horrible, and the smell i dont no where it was coming from but it wasnt pleasant

Excellent service

Whilst this was our first visit to Canterbury, it certainly won't be the last. Staying at the Hampton Hilton was convenient and allowed us to enjoy the best the city has to offer. The breakfast was amazing and a perfect way to set you up for the day. Despite not havinv onsite parking, I would certainly be returning.

A really good base for exploring Canterbury , in the middle of town and a short walk from both railway stations. Great breakfast to get you ready for the day, and friendly staff too

Great hotel! Staff and location super!

Lovely clean property, great location, superb breakfast..... but..... noise booming from the rooftop bar into our room was a problem, won't be staying again.

Location is superb, staff are friendly, hotel is clean and nice. Despite reading reviews that said the beds were comfortable, we found ours in room 246 to be most uncomfortable - painfully hard. Apart from that it was lovely.

Location is great, close to all shops, restaurants and attractions. Friendly, excellent staff and lots of options for breakfast of hot or cold food and drinks.

Yet another amazing stay which included a gift for my daughter who was graduating.

Everything was aligned to expectations. Overall very positive experience.

I gave 4 stars rather than 5 because, on my first morning, some of the breakfast items were very depleted. Apart from that another excellent stay.

Very nice hotel in a central location in the old town, close to the main attractions, restaurants and shops. Nice breakfast. The room was spacious with large comfortable beds. WiFi was also very good. Please just consider adding some storage or just some clothes rack in the rooms as there was literally nothing to hang trousers/shirts (just a few drawers). Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and we’d definitely come back! Thank you!

Clean, good location. Only negative was bar tender that was not listening to my order and seemed frustrated and tutted a lot!
