Holiday Inn Express BIRMINGHAM - OLDBURY by IHG, an IHG Hotel

Hotel was ok but very noisy. The breakfast was very poor and didn't even have egg's.

Wouldn’t recommend at all. Rooms are small and unfortunately the children’s bed wasn’t made up. Bedding took a while to arrive and several requests. Beds were uncomfortable

We have stayed here quite a few times . It is convenient for visiting friends and for accessing the motorway network. The satff are friendly and efficient particularly Chelsea. We should be here again in about 2 weeks time.

No plig sockets near bed so husband cluld use his breathing machine whe asleep. I asked flr extension cable but not long enough to reach.

Perfect one night stay. It had everything I needed. I was even able to get something hot to eat at midnight which saved my life! The staff were very friendly and very helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast was exactly what the Doctor ordered and nice and hot.

Fire alarm at 05:30 and doors banging near my room through out the night meant about 2 hours sleep max.

Parts of the property need updating.

The water in the sink didn’t go down properly. I was going to repot it but when I got back it was already fixed. Plenty of parking spaces. Exit not well marked.

We stayed in the hotel for an evening meal- there were only a couple of options on the menu available, both of which were expensive for what they were. The chips should have been with potato skins but were ordinary chips & cost £3-95p & the toastie was overdone & hard to eat ie the crusts were rock hard. Breakfast however was very good . We could have gone elseware for food but didn’t want to go looking for a restaurant at 7 pm

Great stay apart from not enough pillows. Even when we asked for for more they could only find one.

Hotel not too bad and all staff very good, friendly and helpful but had to take a refund and go to a premier inn as even though the Aircon was completely turned off kept making a grinding noise and making nasty smells all afternoon and early evening stopping us from sleeping. As it was fully booked the only other room available was an accessible rooms which wasn't suitable and smelt funny so we unfortunately had to leave after the manager had tried to resolve it but failed.

The primary reason I selected this hotel—despite the higher cost compared to other options—was the advertised availability of air conditioning, which is an essential comfort for me. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in my room was not working throughout my stay. I reported the issue to reception on the first day, but no one attended to it. I raised the issue again on the second day and was only provided with a fan, which was an inadequate substitute given the room conditions. This experience was disappointing and did not align with the expectations set by your brand. I effectively paid a premium for a service that was unavailable. Had I known the air conditioning would not be functional, I could have chosen a more affordable hotel without such amenities.

Check-in was efficient. First impressions of room was OK. Discovered could only watch BBC 1 & 2 on tv. Breakfast was quite basic. Some items not available. We stayed 3 nights, on 3rd day our room was visited by housekeeping (perhaps we should have left note on door handle) , we were left with a single towel! On our final morning we discovered we had no cold water! Reported TV and water issues to reception on check out

I only stayed one night, and found the room clean and tidy, as i would expect.

The bed was fine for one night and the shower was good. However, the sink in the bathroom smelt of sewage when the water was run.
