Storrs Gate House

We had a great couple of days. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. We were well looked after and would definitely stay here again the next time we visit the Lake District.

Glenn and Susann were lovely hosts who showed us great hospitality. The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was skillfully cooked to order, full of options and served with great attention. We enjoyed our stay at Storrs Gate House during our time in the Lake District.

What a pleasure to stay at this beautiful property, with fantastic hosts. The quality of the breakfast is top draw and without a doubt the best egg and bacon sandwich I have ever tasted. A short beautiful walk along the lake leads to bars and shops. We will definitely be back.

We had a fabulous stay in the Storrs gate bed and breakfast. Everything was wonderful. Our room was lovely and the breakfast was very nice. It's just a short walk to lake Windermere and all amenities. Really lovely!

The place and rooms were nice but the experience was overshadowed by the bad behaviour of the hostess. We were 15 minites late in checking out coz i had bumped my head. She never offered to help while my forehead was swelling up, refused to give ice or anything to help and just wanted us out of the room. She closed the door to the living room area when we came down the stairs and made us wait for our taxi out in the cold..

What a little gem of a guest house this is, just yards from the shore of Lake Windermere opposite the marina and just a 20 minute walk from Bowness ( or a couple of minutes max by car ! ) Owners Susanne and Glenn are lovely warm friendly hosts and are very welcoming and more than happy to give you any help needed with info on the local area. The guest house is bright and beautifully clean with a slightly 'chintzy' decor, but at least it has character rather than the sterile corporate identikit look of many hotels. Breakfast choice is excellent, fresh berries, granola, cereals etc etc, all the usual, and the cooked food is delicious and freshly prepared for you when you go down to breakfast. Our bed was on the firm side but nontheless was very comfortable and lovely and warm and the pillows were excellent. All in all with the guest house very good EXCEPT the road noise was awful ! The windows were of the sash design which do not seal well even when closed so we got the roar of every car, bike, van etc that went past in our room, usually falling quiet around 1.00am. For me, this made sleeping difficult and was the only real negative to our stay.

Best stay ever at Storrs Gate House cosy friendly well looked after stay can’t wait to go back! Very central location and Storrs only too pleased to give us the best advice possible where to visit in the area.

Beautiful accommodation, Suzanne was very welcoming, helpful and looked after us during our stay. Room was so lovely, big French windows were so beautiful.

Wonderful stay in a lovely little B&B. Convenient location just half a mile from Bowness, close to the marina. Beautiful surroundings and the B&B is run by a lovely old couple. Perfect for a few days in the Lake District

Suzanne and Glenn were the perfect hosts with a great deal of knowledge about places to eat and also places to visit.The breakfast is top knotch and they cater to most needs.Nothing was to much trouble.Your room was cleaned every day.I would recommend this place to people and friends.It also has free parking.

Good overnight stay - bedroom ok but felt cluttered & rubbish found under a table - breakfast very good & hosts very considerate

Storrs Guest house was clean & comfortable. The owners were very friendly & helpful, nothing was too much for them. They were knowledgeable on places to see. The breakfast was excellent - sets you up for the day. I would recommend Storrs Guest house & it was only a 10 minute walk into Bowness which offered some amazing friendly pubs & the food was good, enjoyed the Sunday roast in the Flying Pig very good food.

This is by far the best stay we have ever had as a couple visiting the Lake District very frequently. The house is absolutely beautiful and the owners Susan and Glenn were the most wonderful hosts. The rooms are absolutely stunning and the quality of the breakfast is 5 star.
