The Ashford Arms

Room was cramped. Disturbed by loud music and voices from floor below. Service and quality of food at dinner was poor.

Lovely place. Staff was wonderful. Breakfast was a delight sitting outside. The room was clean and meet our needs but very small. For one night while touring it was fine but if staying a few days of all for the largest room they have. Ours might have been an outlier size wise. Otherwise it was a great place. The town is small and quiet and very near Bakewell which has more to see and do. Also near the Chatsworth Estate worth visiting and the Monsal Trail' great for bike rental and walking.

The place was very well maintained and very quaint. The food was amazing - both dinners and breakfasts. The staff was friendly and helpful - we ran into a couple of them in the (very) little town when they were not working and they were very friendly.

This is a delightful boutique hotel with attentive staff and delicious food. We had a lovely experience in our clean and well-stocked room (water, coffee, tea, fan, robes). No washcloths were provided so bring your own. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

Plenty of parking, breakfast good with plenty of choices. Rooms clean, comfortable and warm.

The room was decorated tastefully and was warm and welcoming. All the staff were friendly but professional. There is plenty of parking. The hotel is very popular and we can see why.

Hotel was very welcoming with a lovely cosy bar, restaurant and orangery. It was very busy with Sunday lunch customers, which was a good sign. We booked a deluxe double room- The Harris - very nicely decorated, although it was a very small room and space was tight, especially in the bathroom, we did wonder what a standard room would be like! The receptionist did mention on checking in that they operate a working kitchen and therefore some noise was to be expected, but unfortunately our room was directly above the kitchen and the extraction fans were extremely loud, whilst it didn't bother us in the evening as the kitchen shut before we went to bed, it woke us up very early when they started breakfasts. This was our only negative, I would ask for a room not above the kitchen next time. Breakfast was very good, made to order. No buffet, but you simply ordered off the menu and it was good quality and very hot. A great stay and would go back because its in a lovely location.

Great hotel and restaurant. Room was very cosy and well equipped, check in team very helpful and friendly. Stayed for Dinner with breakfast also included, all food and drink was to a very high standard. Thank you

Everything about this hotel was lovely, the room was clean and gorgeously decorated with lots of nice little touches. The restaurant on both the morning and the evening served amazing food. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Another great stay at the Ashford Arms. Spotlessly clean rooms, great food and drink and fantastic staff. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Lovely bedroom and bathroom. We were very warm and comfortable. Would suggest install a small handrail when going up the two steps into the bathroom would be a great help for the less able bodied. Really enjoyed being there and hope to return.

This place was such a good find, the food is outstanding as are the staff and service . Suite we had was beautiful and a welcome sight after very long hikes

Bathroom rather small, but the room was nice. Evening meal and breakfast both excellent quality.

Lovely hotel in a nice area serving really good food along with great staff. It would have been perfect apart from the size of the room that we were given. The room was clean although extremely small and it was difficult to move around in there. For the price of our stay I would have expected the room would have been much larger.
