They change my room for me on arrival as i preferred a balcony. The room was lovely. The food in the restaurant was excellent and huge portions and the staff were friendly. All in all a great stay . Fountains Abbey was 10 minutes down the road.

Noisy when other Guests turned their water on. Cigarette butts in gulley of balcony, Room was OK but needs some TLC, 3 star rating does seem appropriate. Bar and Restaurant very nice, had a nice meal in the restaurant, I did think the breakfast was a bit overpriced.

Amazing three night stay at Chequers Inn when visiting Yorkshire Show . Lovely room comfortable and clean. Fantastic pub grub . Staff so friendly and accommodating with dietary gluten free requirements. Many thanks to Harry and Linda and chef . Will book again and highly recommend this Country pub can’t praise enough!

You can hear everything in this property. The cleaners started cleaning at 8.30/9am and even though there was a sign outside our room that says to respect other customers who were staying, there was a complete disregard for this. They were being very loud. The room was absolutely boiling constantly even with windows open. Would not recommend, ended up leaving early even if we got offered another room, we feared it would be just as loud and uncomfortable to stay in as it is a small hotel.

Absolutely lovely. Booked through Expedia. Upon arrival we were expected & welcomed by the host. The place was family run and everyone we encountered was brilliant, all working together & multitasking, like a well oiled machine. We stopped in room 12 on the 1st floor, it even had a little balcony with astro turf, table & chairs to allow us to sit out and watch the sunset over the trees in the distance. Room condition was very good & had everything we needed. It appeared brand new. We has an evening meal in the on site restaurant. Food was top notch. Good choices & good portions. Breakfast was in with the package, same comments as above. Finally, checkout was easy and swift. Would we stop there again - a definite YES (One comment although not of the hotel was that we used our sat nav to get there which was ok until the last quarter mile, when it took us to a lane by a field, fortunately my wife noticed a brown sign back on the main road showing the hotel's location, so word to the wise, lookout for the brown signs!!)

More than l expected fiod was unreal top draw

Great place for us as a place to sleep. We wanted to be near Fountains Abbey. The breakfast was amazing, we didn't eat on an evening so don't know about that. The building needs a little TLC, the door to our veranda was difficult to lock, the stairwell smelt a little fusty and there are no plug sockets near the bed. The bed was comfy though and the room basic but acceptable. Overall, a nice stay.

Had a fantastic stay a family run hotel and I rate it as top notch. Food excellent service excellent and very friendly. We can’t wait to go back again. Our thanks to them all.

Disappointing. The bathroom fittings needed some attention. Sink basin stopper did not work. Toilet seat loose. Light switch chain broken. Light bulb out and a hole in one of the hand towels. The hotel Wi-Fi did not work in our room. Our mobile phones registered ‘no service’ in our room. No white sugar or decaf coffee supplied to our room. Overall staff were very friendly and polite.
