The Green Dragon

We stayed as we were having a special birthday treat at a local restaurant Hansom. The accommodation was great! We liked our room and our included cold breakfast ( cereal, toast, yoghourt, juice and coffee/ tea, thank you). Cooked breakfasts though looked amazing!! Next time :) We really loved beautiful Bedale as a gorgeous market town and so many independent shops on the high street. We live maybe 60/75 mins away depending on traffic time and will definitely come back. The pub was a great spot, lovely clean room, with the brekky. Next time we want to stay over, potter in the area and have a few drinks in the pub there. Great staff for brekky and also thanks to Chris sorting us out for a parking disc for right outside parking :)

Friendly welcome despite a minor flood that has just occurred. Nice room but a bit small and cramped en suite. Continental breakfast was fine.

Plenty of shops. Parking cheap and easy but not particularly convenient.

Very enjoyable weekend up in the dales with convenient and welcoming accommodation.

Nice clean room in a good location in Bedale

We booked a 2 night stay at the Green Dragon in a superior room with a king size bed. When we arrived we found that our booking had been moved without any prior consultation or notice to the White bear pub in Bedale. The room we were given was a small double room with a tiny en-suite. The room door didn’t lock at all. We spoke to the person who checked us in and he said he’d lock it. When we returned the door could still be opened by simply pushing it. We felt uncomfortable leaving our valuables in our room for the entire stay. The door never locked! There was no housekeeping during our 2 day stay. The original booking mentioned a continental breakfast being included. This was not provided during our stay at the White Bear. Overall we would never have booked at the White Bear but were never given a choice. We feel that we overpaid for a better quality room and venue which we did not receive!

Great stay. Very clean and well-appointed room. Friendly and welcoming staff and excellent beer. Will look forward to our next visit.

Great stay good food

Bit disappointed to go down for continental breakfast at 8.15 to find everything locked up. Was told breakfast was between 8 and 930. No one around so had to post keys and parking disc through the front door.

Lovely size with character room, good facilities. Being at the front of the hotel a little noisy as other people in street not so considerate. Good food.

As a three star, this was good, we had a lovely room on the top floor, and received a friendly welcome. Really good location in the centre of such a pretty town Bedale.

Young lady at the bar was very helpful on arrival. No on-site parking so she explained the need to have a parking permit which she supplied and advised how to use it. The bar was a country town bar but the rooms were smart,comfortable and clean. Alternative access was available to residents.
