Lovely staff who were friendly but professional. The room was clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The decor is a little tired but the place was clean. Generous breakfast included in my room rate. Lovely setting by the lakes. Had a good stay for two nights.

This hotel is a good place to stay if you have a pet and the pet will be staying in the room by itself. The carpets in the hallway were 10 years overdue for a change. As a couple, we were provided with only one bath towel and 2 other hand towels. When I called reception to ask for an extra bath towel, the Indian gentleman rudely asked men to come downstairs and get it myself. If I was asking for an unusual item or something that was a favour, I would understand. A towel is a basic necessity. The decor in the rooms were Elizabethan and the hotel had the stench of marshland. The hotel is worth £40 per night at best. The plus side is ample parking.

We will never be staying again Terrible experience Four different people asked us to leave When I had explained that I was caring for 2 disabled adults and it would take longer in the morning to leave I had emailed the hotel prior to arrival about leaving at 12 Breakfast 7-9 on Saturday Wow I will writing reviews regarding this hotel on the booking sites We will never be booking this hotel again

the property ads in their website are far glorified as a real experience not proper bathroom toiletries very good size room but micro TV with broken remotes roadside of the hotel is very noisy due to highway just meters away but lake side is fabulous no air-conditions and ceiling fans are decorative rather than operational

Great location to Cyclopark being only a short drive away - hotel is a bit dated but is clean and rooms are comfy and spacious - breakfast wasn’t brilliant with choices and freedom to have croissants etc - cooked breakfast was ok though - it is a budget hotel though - lovely quiet area and great views over the lake - friendly staff.

You pay for what you get they say. Cons :- Rooms very dated and dirty in places. Stained chair, net curtains dirty with holes and hanging off one end, light switch plates dirt, window frames dirty. Bed hard and uncomfortable, I had a single bed but it had an heavy ‘double’ duvet that touched the floor when untucked, made it even more uncomfortable and awkward getting in and out of. Roadside rooms too noisy to have window open, but the ceiling fan is as outdated and useless as a chocolate teapot. Old enamel bath with chips out of, stained shower curtain, shower fell off the wall. Pros:- staff very nice, lake was beautiful, breakfast good. Bedroom was large, had a hairdryer and tea/coffee facilities. Would I stay here again - sorry no.

The decor was dated as other reviews mentioned but the room was clean and spacious, shower pressure was very weak though. Food was lovely, reasonably priced including drinks, and different eating areas inside and out. It was a very peaceful and relaxing place which is what we wanted. Disappointed we couldn’t stroll around the lake (it’s private land beyond the jetty) but enjoyed watching the big fish jumping out of the water and the entertaining bird life. You can enter the wonderful woods of Shorne Country Park from just outside the car park. Wasn’t able to book any treatments which was a real shame, as were was told nothing available when emailed in the week before our overnight stay. Overall had a very enjoyable stay, having been somewhat sceptical due to reading some quite dreadful online reviews.
