Very pretty pub with nice rooms above. In a great quiet location. The rooms were quaint but with modern amenties and well maintained. Breakfast was great as was dinner in the pub. The staff were very friendly.

Nice Inn, about 10 minute walk into town. We don’t have a dog but there are woods at the rear of the hotel for walking your dog. Comfy room but bathroom had a bit of a drain smell, not sure why. Another guest said the same, so sounds like the drains need looking at.
I asked for a quiet room but we were above the entrance so it was a little noisy but not too bad.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Annalise for whom nothing was too much trouble.

Saw Ella Henderson at the cathedral so only 24hrs in Durham but lived it. Comfortable twin room, super clean, was a hot night but fan provided. Helpful staff on hand with advice . Great breakfast, would definitely recommend and return.

While a 10-15 minute walk from downtown, the scenery and location were gorgeous and quaint. The staff, the room, the breakfast, and the stay were just what we were looking for. We took the train to Durham, dropped our packs off at the inn, and spent the rest of the day walking around town and along the river.

The Kingslodge Inn is in a great location, close to the train and bus station and the city center. With a full service restaurant and bar, and breakfast being included, it was great. The food was very good and the service all round was great! I would highly recommend staying here.

Stayed here several times lovely hotel set back on a quiet road. Short walk to train station to get to newcastle. Easy walk to town centre. Lots of bars and places to eat around.
Room clean and everything we needed for a 2 night stay comfy beds and good breakfast although it finished a bit early for a weekend. Car parking free . Will be back.

Staff were friendly and the hotel, location and bar area were good.
Unfortunately there was a group of very noisy people sat outside on the benches after midnight for a couple of hours on both nights of our stay just outside our room.
This kept us awake and will stop us rebooking this hotel for future visits.

My two night stay gave me a very comfortable room, with a well equipped ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was self service, with hot food being ordered at the bar.
Staff were very attentive during my stay and I would definitely recommend staying here.

My bathroom was very clean, well appointed and it had great water pressure. 👍
It’s just a stone’s throw away from Durham High Street and some magnificent views. My biggest take on the Kings Lodge was how polite and friendly the staff were. Makes a good stay.

A single room does not need two bedside tables, and if one could be replaced by an easy chair for when reading or watching Television that would be great.
Not a dog person so not particularly keen on dogs in the restaurant when having evening meal, but a minor thing they were well behaved.
Overall very good and will come again
