We wanted to stay in the center of Tetbury and within the walking distance to all, and we found this perfect boutique hotel. It’s very clean and the bed was so comfortable. After a long day, you can have a nice drink at their bar or just an outdoor seating. We had dinner, and it was delicious. All their staffs were professional and friendly. As picky as I am, I was happy with this place.

This was our first stay at The Ormond but we plan to come back again. While a little bit worn around the edges this is more than made up for by the wonderfully warm welcome from staff and the super comfy bed. So convenient for everything in the town too.

Whilst the staff were lovely the hotel room was very tired. The breakfast was really good but the evening meal was average and clearly warmed up. I hadn’t realised either that there was no where on site to park.

Tetbury är en mysig liten stad och hotellet var till belåtenhet. Rummet var trevligt beläget in mot hotellets restaurangs innergård - nackdel med detta var dock att det lät mycket in på rummet från den fest som var där den dagen vi bodde där (fre-lör). Men över lag var vi ändå nöjda med vår vistelse.

This place is set in a very pretty street and had a lovely ambiance, leading through the entrace arch into a courtyard with doors to the bar and hotel leading off. We couldn't park anywhere to drop off our bags, but luckily the local car park was a very short walk away and free (as we parked at 6pm on Saturday overnight to Sunday). Check in was quick and simple and we were shown to our room by a pleasant and friendly member of staff. We found the window already open in the room (it was a very hot day) and a fan in the room which was great. The beds were very comfortable and the ensuite perfectly clean and adequate, if not luxurious. Despite being at the front of the property, even with the window open all night it was not noisy, so we had a great nights sleep. My big gripe was, that we couldn't get the shower to work correctly. On checking in I managed a trickle of lukewarm water, but in the morning we both suffered freezing cold showers, despite both spending quite a time adjusting, testing, waiting etc. I'm so glad I didn't need to wash my hair! In this day and age surely this is the most basic of requirements. We did not complain at the time, (but left a note on the empty reception on leaving). Who wants to summon someone when naked, cold and wet to sort it??? For the money we paid it was still good value, but the shower was a sore point, Would we stay again?, maybe in a different room.

This was a nice stay during a heatwave. So was warm in the room but that was expected. Room was spacious and well furnished. En-suite was large as well.
Very well situated for exploring the town. We used the free long-term car park which also has some picnic tables and is right beside the old rail shed which is a tourist attraction in itself. The hotel bar was nice as well!!

The hotel is nice and comfortable, I think what lets it down are the staff. I was totally ignored in the bar/restaurant area. I ended up eating at another hotel around the corner. No staff or coffee at breakfast, I ended up speaking to one of the cleaners to get coffee made. New house manager needed I think!

I stayed three night (room only). Very friendly staff. Very nice room.
Some areas of the hotel could do with new paint and a bit of maintenance but I suppose that's just normal 'wear and tear".
Had one evening meal along with a pint of Guinness. I thought it was quite expensive ("London prices").

The room was very well decorated and the bed linen was excellent. Plenty of pillows, warm duvet etc. In winter an extra heater and, as recently in a heatwave, an efficient tower fan.
Very friendly and efficient staff.

We had a lovely stay for one night. Room was pretty, clean and had everything we needed.
We had a lovely dinner in the bar downstairs and a good breakfast although , i would say it finished quite early for a weekend.
But all in all it was lovely.

Fabulous new modern room with a double shower en-suite and air conditioning. Just needs a mirror in the bedroom!! Lovely courtyard area outside the room with a small table and chairs. When we arrived a couple were sat at the table right outside our window having a meal which we thought was a bit weird. We had to shut the curtains so they couldn’t see inside. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. It was really warm when we stayed so we used the outside area for a coffee in the mornings. The doors to the kitchen were open, staff just need to remember that the guests can hear everything they say and hear their choice of music!! Metallica isn’t our first choice of band to listen to first thing in the morning when trying to have a quiet cuppa!! Overall though, a really enjoyable stay and would happily stay again.

There were strong dog smells in the reception area, and the rooms often picked up cooking smells from the kitchen. The mattresses in the bedrooms were also too soft and should be replaced with firmer, more comfortable ones.
Overall, the stay was fine for the price point, but anything over £70 per night would not represent good value for money.

Room was up several flights of stairs. Really friendly young man carried my heavy suitcase, couldn't have been more helpful. Room and ensuite had skylights, views over rooftops. Very comfortable bed, pretty room, bit of noise from coutyard below but just in the afternoon. Didn't book breakfast, expensive at £22. Problem was the bath/shower. Trickle of water from the bath taps, gave up trying to run a bath. Shower was equally useless, stopped part way through then restarted after a minute or so. I know its an old building and that must make maintenance difficult but reliable working plumbing is a requirement.
