Spit level room with plenty of space (room 1). Comfortable bed, massive walk in shower. Lots of clothes space. Onsite parking. Really pleasant staff who show you to your room. No breakfast option but did have porridge and coffee facilities. Will definitely stay again and would recommend.

Lovely room in a lovely pub. So nice to be able to sleep with an open window! Best nights sleep I’ve had for ages! Even on a busy night with the football on!

The building, the pub and the room were all lovely. Landlord and landlady were really friendly. The one thing that let it down was the stifling heat in our room. No fault of the owners as the weather was hot. But I think they need to consider air conditioning. Didn’t help that our room was over the kitchen. And the fan provided just moved the hot air round. At 2am we had to go and sleep in the car. I think we would have had heat stroke if we’d stayed in there. Such a shame as it was a really lovely room

No access until 3pm, no staff onsite after 11. Bathroom not vey clean. Never been in a room so hot, not the owners fault but one small fan covered in dust and fluff did nothing, constant smell of weed outside and into our room did little to help. All in all very disappointed 😟

This is a really quaint hotel, the rooms are lovely and the staff are friendly, I have stayed twice in the last couple of months when travelling for work. The pub is lovely too serving a vast range of beverages. I would suggest to the property (I haven't asked so not sure if it is an oversight but was the same on both occasions) only 1 towel (although lovely towels) per person and no hand towel, also, a shower mat for inside the shower and a towel for the floor as it is extremely slippery both inside the shower and when you get out.

The room was clean, beds comfy and the staff were very friendly, ideal location for us.
It would have been perfect but for fact the room and bathroom were too dark to get ready in. We were unable to sleep due to the immense heat in the room even though the temperature outside had dropped following a heatwave as there is a vaulted ceiling and only a small low window to air the room. My husband resorted to sleeping in the car!

binnenplaats erg gezellig. ontvangen door zeer vriendelijke gastvrouw.
locatie echt oude pub, maar o zo gezellig. kamer was zeer netjes en sfeervol, met uitzicht op het terras. geen nachtlawaai, iedereen is om 23u weg. Al het nodige in de kamer aanwezig.
minpuntje, geen ontbijt maar wel veel mogelijkheden in de buurt.
parkeren kon op het achterterrein.

The rooms at this pub are beautiful (I booked two rooms), very clean and the staff were really helpful. Really good pub, five minute walk into the centre of Banbury. I would definitely recommend it.

I stayed in a room above an old pub and wasn’t expecting much, but there were several issues. The room was quite dusty with a lot of cobwebs, the floor uneven, and the radiator couldn’t be turned off, which made it far too hot. I opened the window to cool it down, but it was directly above the courtyard where patrons were smoking and playing a noisy game throwing wooden sticks, so I had to close it again.
The staff were friendly, though communication was minimal. I was simply shown to my room and told to call the number on the key if I needed anything.
On the plus side, the room was large, the bed comfortable, and the WiFi surprisingly fast at around 60–70 Mbps. The smart TV was a good size and worked perfectly for watching streaming services. Overall, nice staff and good amenities, but the heat, dust, and noise made the stay less comfortable than expected.

Lovely welcome to a room refurbished a few years ago. Bed wasnt the most comfortable, but the main issue wsss cleanliness. Pics attached of dirt around the bath. There were cobwebs everywhere, the main light heavily caked in dust. Thee whole thing could do with a deep clean.
