The Tollgate Inn

The room was spotless and so much bigger than we expected. The modern decor and amenities were excellent. It even had a little Christmas tree which added to our Christmasy break. The staff were all friendly and welcoming.

Comfortable bed and delicious breakfast.

The friendliest place ever, with a true inn experience, rooms above the pub, small but with an ensuite! Centrally located for trips to Bath, Bradford on Avon, even only 1 hour from Wales. Bed was comfortable, shower was wonderful. Mostly the people made us feel like family, so lovely.

Stayed in the cottage which was a good surprise. Had a self containing kitchen & outside space to enjoy . Food was excellent although had uk wait a few while

Lovely food. Some of the best ever. The burger was to die for. Slightly chaotic with all the dogs barking causing havoc and shame couldn’t eat outside as there was a funeral on and loads of people from the wake seemed to have priority. Missed breakfast out of my own fault but lady made me up a bacon roll after checking with a chef.

Only a one night stay but lovely none the less although very hot and the blind could of been down in my room with the window open when I checked in but overall it was all ace with lush food both evening and Brekkie

Stayed here for two nights while visiting Bath. Loved the room (named "Jake") with its compact space and the layout between the room and the bathroom. You just can't get places that have character like this in the States. Ate dinner both nights in the restaurant which was very good. On both nights (weeknights) the restaurant was full. The venison pie was outstanding. Opting for something more healthy my wife and I chose the porridge with local honey the first morning and repeated the same on our second day breakfast because it is excellent. They have ample parking which was nice that we didn't have to worry about finding a spot on return when coming and going.

A very nice country pub in a great location for visiting local attractions in Bradford on Avon. Friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We met friends and family for dinner and the food was good. We stayed in the annex which was clean and comfortable albeit the room was small and the single beds were quite narrow so need to check on booking if singles are required and sizes of doubles. Excellent clean bathroom with good big walk in shower. It was quite with little noise from traffic. We enjoyed our one night stay and would return if visiting area again

I booked a double with breakfast but ended up with two singles. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8 so didn’t get that either as I had to be at work for 8. Evening meal was good and WiFi is good

The room was very small, bathroom door was restricted opening by the bed. The pub is a lovely old building but this raised issues with condensation/damp in the bathroom. The single glazing will have contributed to the amount of traffic noise, which was unexpected given the hotels location. The bed/matress was very soft which is the main issue as due to this we had very little sleep and now have an aching back. The staff were pleasant, the place was clean the food was good.

Very small room for the price , quite disappointed after reading previous reviews. Lots of noisy traffic from the road beside the room . Breakfast was okay but a bit underwhelming.

Paid for a comfort room but it should have been advertised as a box room. The towel rail in the bathroom didn’t work so it was extremely cold in there. The TV was unwatchable due to poor signal, which also affected my phone. The whole room just felt tired and old. I wouldn’t choose to stay there again. The bar and food however were good.

Friendly and welcoming. Excellent food. Good location for visiting some interesting National Trust properties and Bradford on Avon.
