Matala Bay Apartments

Très bien, juste éloigné de l’hôtel (10 min de marche pour aller au petit déjeuner)

The apartments are way off from the location stated on the site. Poorly renovated, damaged appliaces, only one bath (site says 2) no washing machine, dangerous starrs in the night.. Awful beds..

Very nice apartment. Minimal furnishings but clean and comfortable. Lots of parking. Breakfast is very good. Be sure to check in at the Matala Bay Hotel before you go to the apartment.

The apartment was very spacious with two large bedrooms and two bathrooms with showers. Otherwise pretty basic. Not very close to the Matala beach or the Matala bay hotel which is where the pool shown in the pictures is located and where breakfast is served. It's more than 10 minutes walk, which is not convenient, especially during hot summer days. The main issue we had with the hotel is the behavior of the reception stuff (likely the owners). We arrived late at night after a long trip. We asked them to confirm another booking in the same property that we made for a couple of friends for the following day. They said that they don't see any booking, even though I showed them the confirmation with Expedia and told them that I have already paid for the 2nd booking. They said it's an issue with Expedia and that they could offer us a room at the hotel (instead of the apartments). We agreed on that and even double checked that the room is available around midnight. They reassured us that the room is available and suggested that we meet the next morning to get the keys. To our disappointment, the next morning, a different person at the reception said that there was a last minute booking of the room we were supposed to take and that he can't do anything about it!!! That's the most unprofessional behavior I have ever experienced in my life. Pretty sure that it's their standard practise to mishandle bookings.

Appreciated the manager’s help when checking in. All staff very helpful. Short walk to the caves and loved this beautiful little town.

We booked an enormous 2 br suite for 2 people by accident. It had everything you need and very clean.

Appartement pour 4 personnes, toutes commodités, avec 2 chambres 2 salles de bain, salon - salle à manger et cuisine, terrasse et jardin. Il se trouve à quelques minutes en voiture de l’hôtel et au calme. Personnel au top. Piscine de l’hôtel superbe. Petit déjeuner et dîner varié.

Accueil assez déplorable après près de 3 h de voiture, arrivé au Matala bay hôtel et appartement, on nous explique que les appartements ne sont pas sur place et qu’il faut reprendre la voiture. C’est en fait à 800m ou 10/12 min de marche sous le soleil grecque. Donc bilan au petit dej ou pour allez à la piscine c’est voiture ou rando. Pas pratique pour une famille, il faut être « raccord » niveau timing car en plus on ne vous donne qu’une clé pour l’appartement…Et la double peine c’est que la mer est bien à 10 mn de marche de l’hôtel mais du coup à 20 mn des appartements. L’appartement est bien, lit double extra ferme très dur (trop pour nous qui aimons portant les lit fermes). Les services de l’hôtel, piscine vraiment top, petit déjeuner correct mais pas extraordinaire, table en intérieur ou extérieur c’est assez sympa, parasol de plage ce n’est pas sur la plage mais l’hôtel vous prête un parasol à la réception et on peut se garer à l’hôtel ou dans la rue encore faut il qu’il y est de la place, tout est un question de chance!! . Donc voilà on y a passé 4 jours le bilan global est plutôt bon hormis la surprise de l’éloignement relatif des appartements, on l’a fait ça s’est bien passé, le Matala bay hôtel est un beau petit complexe et nulle doute que le personnel fait son maximum pour le bien être des clients.Je regrette juste le manque de clarté dans la descriptif pour pouvoir faire le choix en connaissance de cause et l’accueil un peu rustre le premier jour.

The apartment was spacious and well fitted out. A convenient 15 min walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

BEL HÔTEL BIEN SITUÉ

Good clean place close to downtown and the beach. Breakfast was good and the hotel was comfortable. There is parking at the hotel which is very convenient.

Appartement moderne, 5 balcons, matelas confortables. A 15 minutes à pieds de la plage de Matala. Seul point négatif : les chiens dans le quartier qui ont aboyés pendant 1/2 heure tard le soir. Parce que sinon quartier très calme. Un bruit de fond stable comme un ventilateur bruyant pourrait palier à ce problème.

Wir hatten ein 4 Betten -Appartement in einem Haus gegenüber des eigentlichen Hotels. Sehr ruhige Lage. Etwas hellhörig im Haus. Aber zu unserer Reisezeit wenig bewohnt. Es waren 2 Zimmer, zweckmäßig eingerichtet - schon etwas abgewohnt, aber zufriedenstellend sauber. Kochnische sehr klein und spärlich ausgestattet. Der Preis über Expedia für diese eine Nacht war super. Wir konnten den kompletten Service des Hotels nutzen.

Et spennende område med vakker natur. Tydelige tegn på finanskrise. Spesielt område med rester fra peace and love kulturen. Var der 4 netter. Vil fremheve Red Beach, en fin, liten og fredelig sandstrand. Valgfritt badeantrekk. En liten bar med musikk fra en liten høytaler.

BEAUTIFUL ,VARY SPACIOUS CONTEMPORY APARTMENTS,20 MINUTE WALK TO BEACH AND MATALA .HOTEL STAFF VERY HELPFUL.AND ABLE TO USE HOTEL POOL 10 MINUTES WALK AWAY. ONLY DOWNSIDE WAS THAT WE STAYED FOR 3 DAYS AND APARTMENTS WERE NOT CLEANED AND NO CLEAN TOWELS SUPPLIED DURING THAT TIME.

Arrived very late. Could not find accommodation. Were very helpful.
