La Rocca

All staff were helpful. Has 2 restaurants one like a “proper” restaurant and the other more like a pizzeria/bar. Both very good. The hotel is sited just a short walk from all the main areas to visit. And not very far from where to take a bus. Taxi access to hotel door. Internet works well. A good value for money hotel. Would stay again quite happily.

Hotel muito bem localizado em Assis, atendimento muito bom, as pessoas foram simpáticas. Conseguimos chegar de ônibus de linha a partir da estação de Assis. Andamos a pé pelo centro histórico.

Está hotel está muy bien ubicado, no necesitas coche para moverte y conocer. El encargado es muy amable; el baño es demasiado pequeño, el wc está dentro de la regadera , se moja todo el baño al bañarse, el desayuno barato pero solo cereal fruta y pan.

We were looking for an affordable room in Assisi so we didn’t need luxury. This fit the bill. The best thing about it was the restaurant in the hotel, which had excellent food and groups of pilgrims.

Hotel pulito e personale gentilissimo. Ristorante con buoni piatti. Ci si sente a casa.

La Rocca is a lovely little hotel. The staff is kind, friendly and accomodating. Christian (one of the owners) seems to work 24 hours a day to make the guests happy. I did not stay in the main hotel. There is an annex up some outdoor steps. It was fine, but not if you have a problem walking. Overall the hotel was very Franciscan in its simplicity. Luxury -no. Family warmth, comfortable room, and caring staff-YES! I would definitely stay there again.

Come da aspettative, un buon hotel. Posizione ottima si arriva velocemente al centro città in 5 minuti di passeggiata. Camere pulite, si mangia bene, personale cortese e disponibile. Aria condizionata presente ma non ne ho avuto la necessità, zona che di notte permette di dormire abbastanza bene senza svegliarsi x il caos

An amazing stay at La Rocca. Clean comfortable rooms very good food. Quiet location. Heartily recommended.

Pulizia accoglienza e cortesia ottimi. Ristorante interno buono. Assenza completa di segnale telefonico e pure di internet tramite wifi non funzionante. Posizione ottima con bel panorama. Soggiorno piacevole da ripetere.

I can’t say enough about the wonderful family that runs La Rocca. We arrived late driving a very large van that we were hesitant to drive into the city. They came up the road to meet us and guide us down and assisted us in getting it parked in their parking lot. The next day the Van wouldn’t start, they had a mechanic come immediately, even though all the local auto shops were closed. After a quick fix they helped us get out of the city walls again also. They kept the restaurant open late for us, and the whole staff made us feel welcome and not rushed even those it was well past their closing time. We Had three medium to large dogs with us and they were more than happy to accommodate them. The level of service exceeds 5 star. The location is great, at the top of the hill. Just minutes walk in to town. Breakfast was simple, Breads, Meats, cheeses fruit and the like. With coffee and fresh juice. The Dinner menu had plenty of choice, although I personally didn’t care for the spaghetti carbonara as I found it far too salty. The veal was excellent, as were the mixed appetisers. The room was basic and functional. The beds were firm. The pillows were harder than I like, and fairly flat. I can see where the complaints about this have justification. For the cost, the room was adequate for one night. But the level of service was priceless.

Hotel was at the end of one of the roads in Assisi. (I wouldn’t recommend coming with much to carry). Check in was a little crazy with 24 people because they didn’t have some of our rooms and we were in two separate buildings but breakfast was great and it was quiet during the night. It was a little difficult to get staff to help anytime after 10p. Good for a night but know that you are climbing to the top of the city if you stay here

Great affordable room. Love the peacefulness of Assisi.
