We had a lovely stay at Viceconte! It is a beautifully renovated palace. The rooms were spacious with comfortable king beds. The entire hotel is incredibly clean with welcoming and helpful staff. We would definitely come again!

Stayed here for one night. Staff were excellent and really helpful. One actually walked 10min with me to my car just so he could direct me back to the hotel car park.
Rooms are clean and spacious. Amazing views. They also have a nice terrace with a bar.

Vi stannade en natt i Matera och valde detta lite finare hotell, dels pga prisvärde (Jag hade en bonusnatt att använda) och dels pga av läget med utsikt och takterrass.
Rummen var jättefina och lägen fenomenalt. Lite knepigt att ta sig till och det var trångt med hyrbilen genom porten.
Vi fick mycket god service och frukosten i det mäktiga rummet var god. Tyvärr var service och utbud i tak-baren lite begränsat men utsikten runt om över staden och ravinen fenomenal. Ena rummets hade dålig luftkonditionering men personalen försökte rätta till det och bad om ursäkt för problemet.

Breakfast was ok our first day but very poor the second. No cheese, no bacon, when we arrived 45 minutes after opening. Ice cold scrambled eggs like they had come out of a fridge. It is a true palace with authentically furnished common areas authentically furniture and original pieces of art galore! Breakfast was excellent and the roof terrace overlooks the sass is of Matera.

This is an incredible property in an incredible location. The art and space like out of a film set. We felt like we were the only people in this remarkable palazzo. Some of the furniture a bit worn but who cares given the setting. Highly recommend. And get a room with a view, totally worth it.
