Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort and Spa All Inclusive

We had a great time and stay. Staff were excellent and extremely helpful in retrieving/securing my luggage the airline lost!

As always, a lovely stay…. But not without issues. But let’s start with the lovely. Check in was quick and easy. Julio was friendly, helpful, and efficient. We received the Expedia VIP upgrade without question. The room was updated and very comfortable, with a large, modern shower. There is a decided lack of storage, however, with absolutely no drawers and no doors on the closet or bedside table. Our refrigerator did not work, though, and it took four calls and three days to get it replaced. Housekeeping was wonderful! They often came twice a day. The property is very eco-friendly, which we appreciate, but there is only one hook in the bathroom to hang towels that can be reused. We tried using a chair to dry them, but housekeeping always took them anyway. Restaurant service was mostly exceptional! Special shout outs to Ernestina Poot in the Italian restaurant, Estela in Steakville, and Arturo in the buffet! The entertainment was also enjoyable. Arturito has such a great personality and makes things so fun. Oscar/Jared was as professional and helpful as ever — we really appreciate him! — and the dancers in the evening shows were amazing!! But….the restaurant reservation process is a pain in the butt. I was NEVER able to make a reservation, supposedly because my email was not ever registered with my account when we checked in, in spite of several visits to the front desk and the guest services hut. Luckily my friend could book for both rooms. But it’s a bad system.

This was my third time at this resort. It is clean, the food is good and everything is walkable. Every year we go we get a cab to take us to Paradise Beach club near Tulum so we can get a day out on a beautiful beach. The resort does not have a big long beach, but it does have good snorkeling included. The rooms were newly renovated, the shower was great and there was American television. We did the privilege package, it included an extra restaurant to go too, which was nice if we didn’t have a reservation at a specialty restaurant, Access to another bar which was less wait for a drink during the day, I believe the renovated room and a spa circuit.

Very well maitained property. Beautiful resort. Little noisey through the night. Staff was great amd friendly.

We enjoyed our stay. This is a small family resort about an hour away from the Cancun airport, with good cleanliness and basic amenities. The staff are friendly, and the grounds are nice. If you're coming for the sand beach, you may wish to go elsewhere, since the main beach is full of kelp/seaweed that the staff works to remove everyday but it often obstructs access to the water. There is a very small beach on the other side, but not with waves (this is good for kiddos), and there is a rocky section of beach too. The food and the drinks are average--the drinks often taste watered down, and the food is ok. We couldn't get a dinner reservation at an a la carte restaurant for any of the 5 nights we stayed there, since it was all booked up and the only timeslots were around 8:30pm and 9:10pm, which is after our kids' bedtime. The theater show is offered at 9:30pm, also after our kids' bedtime, so we couldn't participate. They did a pinata one night at 8pm, and the kids really enjoyed that. They do offer aquagym every day around 11am or noon. The pools are nice, with shallow areas for small kids to play in safely. We rented a golf cart and went around Puerto Aventuras for 2 hours, and got to see some dolphins (not a show, just in the water enclosure). We had a nice time. That said, we went to a 4-star hotel on the Cancun strip for the last 2 days of our trip, and the difference was notable: poolside service, better food and drinks, more entertainment offerings, nicer facilities.

We've stayed at the Catalonia Riviera Maya 7 times. We like the size of the resort, the staff are friendly, it is clean, the food is good and fresh. Reserving the specialty restaurants is hard to get reserved. We did walk into 2 of them and they let our party of 4 in without reservations.

We stayed here a week ago, and we had a great time staying here. The staff are friendly, the food is great, and overall, everything is amazing. We’ll definitely come back here.

No poolside service or beach service for food and drinks. Towel service was horrible if you left your towel unintended they would take it and not give you another one . Had to fight for towels. Horrible. Food avrege at best .

Our stay over all was good, just a few complaints. The food was ok, the best restaurant was the Italian. I found the food had no flavor. There was never enough chairs to sit by the pool or beach. A few days we sat on the edge of the pool or stayed on the balcony at our room. The staff is amazing. The rooms could use a makeover. One of the lamps in our room had black electrical tape holding the cord together and the socket cover was half broken. Not enough outlets for the room.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was just ok not much taste. There is not enough seats around the pool for all the guests, there is a whole exclusive area on the beach that was only used by 4 people so problem make that a bit smaller.

Very accommodating and lots to do

Food was great. Staff was accommodating. Georgina in the kids club was fantastic! We really liked that you could check the kids in or out at any time of the day. Drinks were great. Loved that you could go anywhere on both resorts. A la carte restaurants were great but make sure you book your reservations as soon as you get there. Smoothie bar is awesome for kids and l adults. Beach volleyball was a blast. No complaints! Would definitely stay here again

Overall good resort.

I had an amazing time in Catalonia. The room was clean and modern. The staff very friendly and warm. Safe area, nice food and options. Convenient location if you want go on the tours for the parks, cenotes, etc…

The cove beaches are perfect for kids to play. I recommend staying privileged for the restaurant (specifically for breakfast) and beach/pool area.

Very nice resort, very friendly staff, excellent food. They just need to get to that next level with how they run their a la cartes scheduling to make sure they are filled once they open at 6 pm so they can accommodate more parties throughout the evening.

Everything was conveniently located so you did noy have to walk gor ever to get anywhere

What a beautiful well maintained property with fabulous gardens and wildlife, food was excellent and staff were very helpful and friendly, use of kayaks was great and the entertainment staff were great!

Staff were amazing. Helpful and friendly. Property a bit tired. It was Very clean and felt very safe. Food was ok but not exceptional. On the whole very good value for money
