It is an excellent hotel. I still remember the breakfasts we had every morning. One downside is that the elevator only fits 2-3 people, so we always had to take the stairs, even to the 6th floor where the restaurant was. There was often a queue to the elevator on every floor.

The staff was very helpful. There's a 24 hour paid parking lot right behind the hotel if you need parking (we used this - 5 EUR/day) The location is quite central and walking distance to the city center (~15 - 20 mins)

Just missed a small fridge in the room and after the shower there was water on the floor because the shape of the bath. The floor makes noise when you walk around. It’s not a complaint. I would go back without problem. Thanks!

For the location and price, this hotel was great. It is a budget hotel, I had to side step to fit into the bathroom (I’m 5’ 4” pretty small- can’t imagine someone bigger than me) and the AC didn’t work well. I ended up keeping my window open at night (I went in September). But the breakfast was great and the views from the restaurant & rooftop were stunning.

It's a nice three stars hotel, a little bit old but comfortable and not far from the center of Funchal, so you will be at walking distance of almost everything. Breakfast was nice, and the hotel staff was friendly.

I stayed two nights. I liked the location as it is central and I could walk to most sights and shops and restaurants. The hotel has a nice 360 degree rooftop and ok breakfast buffet. As most Portuguese hotels, the walls to the neighbouring rooms were ridiculously thin, which was very annoying as I had to listen to the neighbours conversations when trying to sleep.

Room was tiny. Bathroom even smaller. An average size person would not be able to move in the bathroom facility. I am a small woman and it was difficult using the toilet and shower. Although I could not hear voices in the surrounding two rooms, I heard every flush of the toilets and the sound of the toilets and the showers being used. I have stayed in this facility three times in the past and have never had this issue. I was placed at the end of a hallway with two rooms on either side of which I could hear all the water sounds. On the plus side air conditioning did work.

Rooms were clean. Staff very friendly. My only complain are the mattresses. They were a bit too hard. Other than than, it was a great stay. They offer breakfast which was amazing. The view from the roof top was beautiful.
