Great location in Airport at Doha

THIS IS MOT A PAID REVIEW / ADVERTISEMENT!!! The room was very clean, bed well made with fresh smelling bedding sheets! The staff are extremely very professional and friendly. I loved it and will definitely come back again.

The room was peaceful after a long flight, spacious, clean and quiet.

Room and staff ok. Clean and everything worked. However this is a transit hotel where you are trying to get some sleep in between long international flights. The room noise insulation is terrible. Loud announcements could be heard from the airport until gone midnight. Then until about 2 in the morning a stream of arriving guests that showed no regard for the hour and talked loudly in the hotel corridors. Can’t blame the hotel for inconsiderate guests but room sound proofing is terrible considering this is a in terminal transit hotel . Got maybe 3 hours poor sleep until woken in the early morning. An expensive stay that was a complete waste of hard earned cash. Waste of good money.

Easy to reach in the transit area, staff were very friendly as we had a later flight a late check out till 5pm was provided free of charge. Staff checked whether we needed anything whilst we were there and provided additional water. Would stay there again.

A few amenities previously available are no longer available, such as combs, and other things in the bathroom.

Initially we thought that we were lucky to get two rooms with the view of the centre of the airport where a large yellow bear is located. Odd number rooms 181 and 183 facing the central giant bear. Dozen of men kept playing tampourine regularly over night waking us up. I only got 2 hours sleep. Perhaps it would have been nice to see the show during the day. :(

Customer service terrible. Fine details about it being in the transit zone of the airport are not obvious. Checkin email provides details but they send it after the cancellation cut-off, then refuse to refund.

Hotel is well-appointed, staff were polite. Washcloths in the bathroom would be a nice touch, however, and one water bottle left for guests had already been opened. Not good. Others have commented on the lack of breakfast in a hotel of this price. Even breakfast vouchers at the food court would be appreciated. Harrods might like the business A big concern was poor directions to the airport from plane arrivals. After 14 hour flights, you do not want confusion as to where you are going. The hotel said "To find us, after you have departed from the aircraft, follow signs for Transfer passengers. If arriving at C, D & E gates, take the train to gates A&B. ..." Following Transfer leads to a security check site at some distance away. The train is actually near the baggage claim. The train is not marked for gate A&B, rather "south terminal" or somesuch. Once you get to the train's destination, you need to go through security to get to gates A & B. That was not mentioned. There is no other way to get to the hotel.

What I Liked About the Oryx Hotel ✔ Convenient location Perfect for an overnight or long layover—being directly in or adjacent to the airport made it very easy to access without hassle. ✔ Quick check-in and courteous staff The staff were polite, efficient, and helpful, making the arrival process smooth. ✔ Comfortable bed The bed itself was comfortable enough for a short stay, allowing for decent rest despite travel fatigue. ✔ Quiet rooms The room insulation was good, blocking out most airport noise and creating a calm environment, but could be better. What I Didn’t Like About the Oryx Hotel ✘ Dated rooms and furnishings The overall look and feel of the room was older and felt tired. Furnishings, carpet, and décor could benefit from a refresh. ✘ Cleanliness could be improved Certain areas—corners, bathroom details, surfaces—felt less clean than expected for the price point. ✘ Bathroom issues Showers or fixtures may feel worn, with inconsistent water pressure or temperature. Amenities were basic rather than premium. ✘ Limited food options Btter and more dining options because what is there is minimal or not particularly appealing, especially for late arrivals or early departures. ✘ Rooms can feel a bit dated and bathroom, ✘ Pricing vs. value For the cost, the overall experience didn’t always feel like a strong value—particularly given the dated interior and limited amenities.
