BCC Lochness Glamping

I was not put in the right cabin, I was placed in a room in the hostel across the road. So nothing was as on the web site, or as paid for.

Easy parking, clean and tidy room only let down was squeaky bed when someone moved, toilet and shower block clean and plenty of hot water, shared kitchen clean with plates cups etc. for a inexpensive place to stay was very impressed. If travelling in area again would definitely use, many thanks.

Not possible to check in after 7 pm. So we couldn’t check in, try to contact them no answer.

Overall - served the purpose. They seriously need to post quiet hours like 10pm-6am 11-7 if you want a decent and needed sleep after long driving or hiking. It’s a small area and cabins close together - Drunk loud guys came in at 6:40pm and were outside until after midnight . we were all up until they decided they were done and started again at 6am. Great spot by the river but you can’t hear or enjoy the river or nature if there is no respect for a shared outside space. Posting signs on the cabin doors for quiet night hiurs - even 6 hours to sleep a bit would go a long way. It’s a crap shoot otherwise if you get to rest before your next day.

The location is good, by the river, although it’s next to a 60mph road so cars rushing by are heard throughout the night. On the booking page there were pictures of a fairly new, cute round wooden ‘pod’, which would suit the name Glamping pods as advertised. The pods were actually present on the premises and looked really charming. We were very disappointed to find that our ‘Glamping pod’ was in fact a garden shed with double doors, which stood at an angle, had a weird combination of old beds and a part of a sofa and some parts of a cupboard. Nothing near the pictures. Furthermore the damp smell could be coming from weather conditions, but there were 2 blankets (there are 5 beds, so?) and one cushion that didn’t looked good (used to be white) which might have added extra smell to the atmosphere. At least we were dry for the night although the sound of drops of water falling to the floor was heard throughout the night, a source of a leakage wasn’t found. Toilets and showers were fine, which was much appreciated.

For price good all round

Ideal short stop. On contacting owners direct, received rude reply. The kitchen and toilet bins were not emptied for 3 days. Owners reply was that she couldn’t check every time someone put rubbish in them. Well, if you are busy that is when bins fill up the most! Very slippery entering shower block and suggested non-slip mat. I had to go to hospital because of a nasty fall due to slippery conditions. Just be warned!

Nous n'avons pas eu accès à la chambre qui était déjà occupée. Nous avons dû chercher un hotel à 30 km de là. Nous n'avons eu aucune réponse à nos mels ni au téléphone pour que le loueur s'explique et nous dépanne, il était aux abonnés absents. Nous voulons être remboursés.

Unable to stay at this property - very dirty - had to sleep in my car - unavailable after 8pm

DISGUSTING! You are better sleeping in your car like Myself and brother did. This place is a scam! The pictures shown do not look anything like it in real like. Spider, fly, mushroom, mould infestation everywhere. Unliveable! I am sure you would get a respiratory problem with the amount of uncleanliness and mould. It is hell and should be put down! I truly feel robbed and want my money back! A simple cleaner and maintenance would solve this issue. Do Not Waste your Money pre-paying for this hell hole.

I booked a twin for me and my sister. It was a double NOT a twin. Filthy dirty sheets, mould on walls. One old saggy disgusting bed. (I booked a twin) no linen. Broken toilets with no toilet paper. Old broken settee. Broken lights. Mould on walls. Wrecked car parked outside. Photo not true to booking. Did not stay. Would not put my dog in it. Requested refund as not what I ordered. No response from owner. Will be seeking legal advise to recover costs.

We. spent 2 hrs driving around trying to find the place. When we did find it there was no one there to help us with our reservation. The place is dirty and rundown. Expedia has a nerve even promoting this dump. I want my money back.

It was just ok, it was not the pod that we booked and what we got. It sould have been more clean, shuld have osme basic facilities

Their definition of Glamping clearly differs from mine. It was basically a large barrel with hard vinyl cushions that you lie on. One of the overhead lights didn’t work and neither did the one outside the door so getting up in the middle of the night and not falling over was a challenge. The area is lovely though. I just think for the money they could include WiFi in the huts make the huts a little more “glamorous”.

No es apto para personas. Sucio. Imposible dormir en esa cama. Pasamos la noche sentados en un sillón. Es una estafa.

Le seul point positif est l'emplacement, à 15 minutes à peine de Drumnadrochit et des principales attractions du Loch Ness. Pour le reste il n'y a rien à sauver. Déjà à l'arrivée pas de réception (et pendant les 5 jours où nous sommes restés nous n'avons vu aucun personnel du camping) et il a fallu demander notre chemin à d'autres clients... Pour rentrer dans la cabane il fallait un code, reçu par mail, et en ouvrant la porte le choc : sale, de pauvres tapis de sol qui font office de matelas, 1 seule lampe qui fonctionnait sur 3, pas de chauffage, la porte fermait mal donc l'air froid s'infiltrait... Que dire de plus, ah oui les sanitaires déplorables, avec de l'eau chaude 1 jour sur 2 quand on avait de la chance... Pour tout dire, le 1er soir on avait tellement le cafard qu'on a hésité à chercher un autre établissement dans le coin... Il y a beaucoup de mouvement parmi les clients, et personne ne reste plus d'1 nuit et nous en y restant 5 longues nuits, on avait l'impression d'être des piliers à la fin... En tout cas, le dernier matin nous sommes partis dès 5h30 et ça a été une libération de quitter ce lieu... Plus jamais ça ! N'y allez surtout pas !!!

Over all we enjoyed our stay. We particularly liked that the 17 bus from Inverness would stop outside at request leaving and going to the hostel. The kitchen was suitable for our needs and the showers were hot and quite clean. We stayed for 1 week at the site. The first few days in Hagrid's hut. We thought the hut could be improved regarding the mattress and bedding. The Hobbit hut was exactly what we should have booked in the first place. Nature walks near by, and a good remote location to escape from the city. Come prepared with mosquito repellent.
