MacDougall Clansman Hotel

Stayed at the MacDougal Clansman Hotel for 3 nights this summer on a girls trip for myself and my aunt in her 60's. This is the perfect family-run operation in my opinion. Iain was in communication with us to coordinate for our check-in (we arrived on an incredibly early train into Inverness, unfortunately), and he was very accommodating. Not only did he offer to keep our bags, but a room opened up and he let us switch into the free room without any fuss so we could freshen up earlier than we'd thought we'd be able to. We ended up staying on the 2nd floor corner room (3rd floor for the fellow Americans) and had a great view down the street so we could people watch on our early nights. Some tourists out in the area were louder than others, but it was wholly unrelated to this hotel - I'll absolutely stay here again if I find myself in Inverness again. Very safe and as comfortable as staying with your own family. Its a great location, you can walk anywhere you'll need to get in Inverness and won't have to call a cab. In fact, between the bus station (the ladies in the counter at the bus station were SUPER helpful as well - I highly recommend stopping by in person to coordinate your out-of-town travels) and the hop-on/hop-off bus, we were able to get all around town. We also took a day trip to Skye one of the days staying here and could walk to the pick-up spot easily! I can't emphasize the convenience of this location enough. Thank you Iain and team! Lovely place with a great breakfast! Very accommodating and clean. If we are ever in Inverness again we will be staying here again! Rooms were comfortable!
