Apartamentos Doramar

If you’re on a budget, you’ll struggle to find better value or a better location in Benalmadena. These self-contained little apartments will sleep three at a push, and was a good base for me on my own. Air conditioning was great, WiFi steady and reliable. Rooms don’t have balconies and the shower is tiny, so bear that in mind if those are deal breakers. There’s a well stocked and competitively priced shop in the lobby, and reception is 24 hours. You’re also two minutes from the main road (shops/pharmacy/bakery), five from the beach and five from Bonanza Square (food/drink). Staff are great - there was a mix-up with our booking in Hotels.com’s side, but Doramar responded to in-app queries in minutes and confirmed the booking the day before travel. It’s a party venue with a late night bar and karaoke in the basement, but I slept well on the third floor. There’s also a pool and on-site self-serve laundry facilities, though I didn’t use either.

No parking for the hotel, old rooms, they don t clean the room even if you stay 3 nights, they only change the towels unless you ask for and they argue it. The location of the hotel is nice.

Decent place to stay and sleep. Sofa had black things on it. Which I believe was falling from the air conditioner, the shower was leaking but they fixed it the next day. Floor wasn't properly hoovered/cleaned. Hair and dust in some places. Toilet also wasn't 100% clean. Had hair on it and some marks. Communication was good, they were always available and answered any questions I had. Overall an ok place to stay and sleep.

Min vistelse på Apartamentos Doramar var en stor besvikelse. Från första stund präglades upplevelsen av dålig service, bristande underhåll och en genomgående känsla av att gästers välmående inte prioriteras. Vid ankomst tvingades vi – jag, min pappa och min syster – genomgå en överdrivet komplicerad incheckningsprocess där vi alla tre fick visa pass, skriva under flera dokument och lämna fullständiga personuppgifter. Det hela kändes oproportionerligt för ett semesterboende, särskilt med tanke på det kalla och otrevliga bemötandet från receptionisten – som dessutom var den enda personalen vi såg på plats, oavsett tid på dygnet. Boendet var i mycket dåligt skick. Lägenheten luktade instängt, var smutsig redan vid ankomst och städades inte en enda gång under hela vår vistelse. Vi fick varken handdukar eller toalettpapper, och trots upprepade förfrågningar fick vi ingen konkret hjälp. Ljudisoleringen var obefintlig, vilket gjorde det svårt att få ro. Vi hörde högljudd musik, festande och även privata aktiviteter från grannrummen – något som bidrog till en mycket störande och obekväm atmosfär. Att AC:n inte fungerade gjorde nätterna ännu mer påfrestande. Vad som gör detta ännu mer frustrerande är att det inte är ett billigt boende. Priserna är långt ifrån låga, men kvaliteten på vistelsen var långt under vad vi förväntade oss, vilket gör att det känns som ett bortkastat pengar. Jag rekommenderar starkt att man väljer ett annat boende.

Close to stores, bars and restaurants. Clean and tidy rooms and hotel. All staff friendly and polite. Excellent price for rooms. Would stay again and recommend to others.

There (as usual) have been mixed reviews but I don't have any problem here especially at the price. One minor point was the kitchen units needed facelift. Good location though on a hill so Costa Bonanza and Arroyo all walking distance. Entertainment underneath, pool and breakfast on site.

Stay here on a regular basis and it’s perfect for our needs.

I stay here regularly and staff are great, property is perfect for our needs, nothing much more to add other than the facilities are fine and I'm happy to return time after time.

Doramar as per my standard is a 1 Star rated accommodation. Reason: ONLY ONE AIRCON - In the pictures and description you may see that the apartment is "airconditioned" - which is only partially true. In the one bedroom apartment - there is no aircon in bedroom Only ONE SMALLEST aircon in the hall and a big window to the bedroom in the expectation that the bedroom wil get cool air from the hall :) :) Staff is not great and not supportive at all. They think that this is a standard across the hotels to have only one aircon in the apartment. Location is ok, lots of food options near by, some clubs and bars located in the 24 Hour Square which is walkable ( if you are interested in clubs ) Apartment is just about clean. In my expectation - NEVER Stay here if you want a comfortable stay. If you are looking for some beds to sleep at night with a min aircon - they this may suffice your needs. I was saved because of the wonderful help offered by "Hotels.com" customer support team. !! Kudos to them and I shall always be grateful ! MANY MANY THANKS HOTELS.com and Expedia TEAM " Superb help in offering me quick compensation and help in relocating to another hotel. - Will always book through Hotels.com !

Pool and daytime bar were excellent.

Outdated, small rooms, awfully noisy. We are a family of four, the bedroom had ok beds but the pull-out sofa was awful quality, dirty, right by the paper-thin window. Also, the condensing unit for the A/C was not outside but in a box inside the room with the window removed. One can imagine the noise it was making, as the box was right at the end of the sofa. All the rooms are the same, I can not understand how nobody complained about this. We could hear every noise from the street as if there were no windows at all. Bathroom was very small, the shower was minuscule and the smell was bad. The walls had signs of water damage, plaster was cracked on the ceiling. This apartment building is in dire need of a revamp. Staff were sour and did not understand how come we were unhappy with the room.

No balcony only air con in the sitting room had to ask for fresh sheets and towels when needed no cleaning done in 5 nights no baby pool not really suitable for kids .

Room was ok. But hotel customers have to pay sunbeds on the pool. Pool was dirty and cigarett stumps was on the pool. Hotel is not for the children because there is a lots of drunken irish People Who just mess a round.

I stay here on a regular basis, it is basic but there's everything you need, even English TV channels. All staff are friendly and helpful and it's a pleasure staying. Top value I will be back.

The mattress was really good. The room though needs a bit of maintance. Would have been great if the room was soundproofed because you can easily hear everything that's going on in the hallway and also you can hear very clearly your next rooms neighbours.
