Atlantic El Tope

I recently stayed at Hotel Atlantic El Tope and overall had a pleasant experience, especially considering the price and location. The hotel is set slightly uphill, which means you get beautiful views over Puerto de la Cruz and even the ocean from certain rooms and the pool area. The walk back up can be a bit tiring, but taxis are cheap and quick if needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though a bit dated in terms of decor. Housekeeping was consistent, and I appreciated the balcony space—it really adds to the experience, especially in the evenings. The pool area was one of the highlights. It’s spacious, never felt overcrowded, and offers great views. There’s also a bar nearby, which makes it easy to relax during the day. Food was decent but not exceptional. Breakfast had a good variety, but dinners could feel repetitive after a few days. If you’re staying longer, I’d recommend exploring local restaurants in town for more variety and authentic Canarian food. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, always willing to assist with directions or general questions. Tips for future travellers: * Request a room with a sea view—it’s worth it. * Be prepared for the uphill walk back to the hotel. * Mix hotel dining with local restaurants for a better food experience. * Great base if you plan to explore northern Tenerife rather than just stay in a resort. The room was clean, modern and spacious. Cleaning staff were quick efficient and left the room tidy and clean.
