Hotel Niu Barcelona

The pool was really disappointing as you could only walk in it. There’s no way anyone could swim in it. It’s quite deceiving from the photos. It’s loud in there but they do give you earplugs. They talk about being eco friendly but they don’t provide conditioner. They didn’t replenish coffee/milk which was disappointing. The reception when checking in didn’t really explain where the pool etc was, we had to ask. The area itself seems quite rough like I wouldn’t feel safe walking outside alone at night. There were also random yellow stains on the bedding of both mine and my friends room!! Baring in mind we were staying in different rooms. I was on the 3rd floor and he was on the 1st floor. See attached photos. It was quite off putting.

Freundliches PERSONAL das hilfsbereit war. Sauberkeit war in Ordnung. Lage ist gut für Erkundungen. Jedoch der Frühstücksraum ist zu klein, bei dieser Anzahl von Zimmern. Die Speisenauswahl ist für ein Hotel zu gering und entsprechen nicht den gezeigten Bildern .

Great stuff , convenient location very walkable to major attractions , Outside the hotel after 9-10 pm very noisy , lots of homeless people , people drinking on the street , glass bottles left on side walks , garbage on side walks

Min voksne søn og jeg, valgte hotellet da det tilbyder værelser med en dobbeltseng og en enkeltseng. På den måde kunne vi dele værelse men ikke seng. Men hverken billederne af værelset eller beskrivelserne fortalte noget om, at den ekstra seng kun var ca. 175 cm lang og altså må være tiltænkt børn. Vælg ikke dette hotel hvis du ønsker at sove. Vi boede der heldigvis kun to nætter fra torsdag-lørdag. Vi boede på første etage og havde tilsyneladende en bar lige nedenfor vinduet. Og gaden nedenfor fungerede vist som en genvej hjem fra byen, hundeluftergade mm. Sjældent har vi oplevet SÅ meget larm HELE natten igennem. Det var musik, sang, råben, hundegøen, trafik osv. vi fik stort set ikke lukket et øje. Beliggenheden er sådan set meget central, men kvarteret ikke særlig rart. Der var ekstremt beskidt på gaderne omkring, skraldelugt osv. Desuden virkede det ikke særlig trygt om aftenen. Vi oplevede små grupper/ bander der mindede om lommetyve eller lign. der fulgte efter os osv. og nogle virkede også påvirkede af stoffer eller lign.

The area surrounding the property is at a disadvanatge even though you are close to the main attractions. Staff is amazing, especially Deborah and Marco who went the extra mile to make are stay even more special. Also, I would not recommend that they put a club in the basement of the hotel as it will only attract the wrong target of people in the hotel. Maybe a spa would be better suited.

The breakfast was amazing and the staff was extremely friendly.

The hotel has a great location near La Rambla. The breakfast was delicious, but there were almost too many sweets. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a pleasant stay.

According to the taxi driver the hotel area is a bad place for tourist

Området där hotellet låg kändes väldigt otryggt. Att promenera till och från la Rambla var som att gå med hjärtat i halsgropen hela tiden. Var glad att vi inte hade barn med oss. Utsikten från värt hotellrum var rakt in i privatpersoners vardagsrum och sovrum.

TThe hotel is always clean, and what sets it apart is its staff. Employees are approachable, helpful, and friendly, especially the receptionist (💜). Breakfast is good. The location is quite noisy at night, which makes it unsuitable for light sleepers. Both restaurants and transportation are conveniently located nearby.

The hotel was better than our expectations. It was clean and tidy. The staff was helpful and provided cold water whenever we asked. However, the area around the hotel wasn’t feel safe, the streets were dirty and smelly.

We have very mixed feelings about this hotel. To start with, the hotel staff are absolutely lovely. They were incredibly friendly and helpful to anything we needed. The hotel itself as well was quite nice, there were slight issues with the cleaning of our rooms but nothing too major. However, the hotel is placed in genuinely one of the worst areas possible. We felt incredibly unsafe to walk down the streets, even during the day. At night it was so bad that we ended up having to pay for taxis to drop us off right at the door, even though we had previously bought a travel card. The men stare at you when you walk past for no reason, the area itself is also apparently known for lots of illegal activities. It was our bad for not researching the area beforehand, however, we feel that you would be able to find a similar hotel in a safer neighbourhood. The hotel is not cheap, we were quite disappointed that we had paid so much money and then ended up feeling so unsafe. Moreover, every night there were lots of loud noises occurring, on the last night we were not able to sleep till 6:30 AM due to boys screaming outside our window. Therefore, we felt that for the money you give, you can get the same hotel in a nicer place or even a better hotel. We would like to reiterate that the hotel staff are so lovely and welcoming, the area surrounding the hotel just ruins it completely.
