At first, I was a bit upset because they charged a late check-in fee, which I hadn’t noticed when booking. However, when I arrived late at night, I realized it actually made sense — someone has to stay up and wait for you, which takes time and effort, so I understood.
The location is absolutely perfect — everything is nearby! You have stores like Zara, a market, even a McDonald’s and a Sabadell bank right around the corner in case you need cash for the fee or city tax. The place is super comfortable, and the hosts reply instantly and keep the entire building spotless, even the shared bathrooms.
Keep in mind that it’s on a main avenue, kind of like staying in New York, so of course there’s some street noise — but they provide earplugs, and once you use them, you don’t hear a thing. Honestly, it’s perfect. I first booked for two nights, but ended up extending my stay for nine more because I loved it so much.
Out of all the places I’ve stayed in Barcelona, this one has been the best — great location, comfort, and value for money.

I can recommend the Super Balmes Guest House in all respects. The location is nearly ideal for a first tourist visit to Barcelona. The guest house is two blocks away from Pl. Catalunya where the AeroBus from the airport arrives. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops, a giant department store, and all the unique shops in the old city are all close by.
My only complaint is that the instructions about meeting a staff member for check in made me envision that I was meeting someone on the street to lead me to the apartment on some hidden side street. The "meeting place" as described in communications with the guest house is literally the front door of the apartment building and the staff member you are meeting is INSIDE the apartment and you need to be able to contact them (by phone) to let them know you've arrived at the door so they can buzz you in. Be sure you're equipped to use your phone to call a European phone number to contact the person inside. I ended up standing outside the door for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come, while the staff person was inside waiting for me to call.

Property was very clean and looked after well. We stayed in the private bathroom room, however based on how clean it was I would’ve been happy with the shared bathroom. We were allowed early check in which was greatly appreciated. Super convenient as it’s near multiple transport links and very central. Even with being central it was very quiet and the bed was super comfy! 100% would recommend for anyone to stay here.

The rooms are big and it is located in central area. Clean kitchen and bathroom. it is very safe and very convenient. Only cons is that the insulation is not that great, you can here the outside, cars honking or ambulance. They provided ear plug though.

We had a wonderful stay here! Our room was clean, tidy, and spacious — with a lovely terrace. Both the kitchen and bathroom were clean, and effectively stocked so nobody was missing anything. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful!
I highly recommend this hotel for those who want to be close to the heart of the city and close to the beach.

Mitt i allting, nära till Hop-On bussen, lokalbussar, shopping! Frukost direkt utanför dörren! Trevlig värd, väldigt service inrikad! Allt toppen, vi valde ett rum med egen toa, men de som dela hade direkt utanför deras dörr en toa!
