This is a cool unique place to stay on the edge of Yala park. The staff is friendly and goes above and beyond for your comfort and needs. Dinning was delicious and star lit dinner over looking the firefly lit jungle.

Yala Safari Camp has 6 luxury tents at this unique spot. You arrive at the reception/restuarant area and your all inclusive stay starts. This area is high up on rocks and has a wounderfull view off the treetops. The stay starts with a nice tastefull Sri Lankan lunch. After that we did a Safari in block 5 (where afternoon safaries go). The jeeps they use have good soft seats. If you want to do block 1 it starts very early the next morning. This place is near the 2. gate to block 1 that has fewer jeeps starts from here. The luxury tents are very nice and big. One tent recommdation is that sunbeds at tent 5 needs to be fixed so one can sit up outside on the sunbeds and enjoy the birds which there are many of. If you tried safari tents in Serengeti, Africa do not expect to see the same amount off animals around the tents. You do have to go app. 60 steps down by a steal ladder to get to the tent and again back up for eating and the safari starts so if you can not do stairs take this into consideration. Dinner was mainly western and tasteful. Breakfast is very nice and also tasteful. The staff there are very polite. We highly recommend this place if you want the safari tent vibe and a safari in Sri Lanka - especially if you want a block 1 starting point from a less crowded gate.

The location is paradise, the staff were amazing the food was wonderful… if thinking about booking my advice would be, not to hesitate, we do 2 safari’s book on the day of arrival with the hotel… there own vehicle & driver lunch & refreshments were provided, an all round amazing experience in this little slice of Paradise with zero light pollution (if you like star gazing)

Yala Safari Camping is such an incredible & unique experience. The tents are so nice, the staff is beyond incredible. I stayed as a solo female traveler back in December and I felt so safe and taken care of. They help coordinate two safaris for me during my stay. The wifi wasn’t working while I was there so they gave me a hotspot to borrow while I was staying so I could keep up with work calls and emails.

Such a wonderful experience, glamping tent in the jungle was very large and the bed was comfortable. Lunch on the first day was truly exceptional in taste, presentation and quantity. The best meal we have had to date in Sri Lanka. Staff and safari were special.

We absolutely loved our stay here. From dining under the stars by candlelight in the national park to waking up in the heart of the bush in our gorgeous accommodation- it was magical. Breakfast in the treetops was an unforgettable experience, and the entire setting felt like something out of a dream. Wow, what an experience. When we pulled up into the camp, there was an elephant just there (a tusker no less). The standards were consistently high from there. We were well looked after by the manager Ravi, with impeccable service throughout. My wife's gluten free requirement being well looked after. The views are stunning, the food was great. At camp we sat and watched birds, and beyond seeing an elephant we saw a leopard just crossing the road outside! Before going to bed... Shine a torch into the canopy overhead, and there was a polecat (civet), desperately climbing away from us! Two days of safari in yala, were two of the best of our lives. Elephants, leopards, bears, birds, jackals, buffalo... Achi (driver) made sure we didn't miss a thing. 10/10, if you love nature, don't hesitate to stay here. One thing to note is the price doesn’t include safari. Top tip - take ear plugs, you really are completely surrounded by nature all the time.

What an amazing time we had at yala safari camping! The place is magical - completely immersed in the jungle, with trees as far as the eye can see and the mountains in the distance. Our « tent » (it’s not really a tent, definitely more like a luxury cabin) was in front of a lily pad pond and the sounds of the frogs made it a super relaxing place to sleep. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and served a Sri Lankan meal with vegetable curries and jumbo prawns which was delicious. We then went on our first safari half day with Achi in block 5 where we spotted elephants, a leopard and plenty of monkeys, deers and various birds. The next day, we went to a full day drive on block 1 with Niro, and we loved how he spent time showing us various birds - from eagles to egret, kingfishers and bee-eaters - he had a keen eye to spot and we were fascinated with all that we discovered in the jungle. We even saw another leopard walking peacefully down the road, a family of elephants bathing, a malabar pied horn bill, painted storks, mongooses, monitor lizards, deer, grey langurs, and even Sri Lankan’s national animal the giant squirrel. On our last day, we went on a bush walk with Chamara, and walked through the forest and climbed a small mountain to get incredible views. Overall Ravi and his team gave us an unforgettable experience and were lovely, attentive and kind with great attention to detail across everthing. Definitely one to remember and return to!

This is a cool unique place to stay on the edge of Yala park. The staff is friendly and goes above and beyond for your comfort and needs. Dinning was delicious and star lit dinner over looking the firefly lit jungle.

Yala Safari Camp has 6 luxury tents at this unique spot. You arrive at the reception/restuarant area and your all inclusive stay starts. This area is high up on rocks and has a wounderfull view off the treetops. The stay starts with a nice tastefull Sri Lankan lunch. After that we did a Safari in block 5 (where afternoon safaries go). The jeeps they use have good soft seats. If you want to do block 1 it starts very early the next morning. This place is near the 2. gate to block 1 that has fewer jeeps starts from here. The luxury tents are very nice and big. One tent recommdation is that sunbeds at tent 5 needs to be fixed so one can sit up outside on the sunbeds and enjoy the birds which there are many of. If you tried safari tents in Serengeti, Africa do not expect to see the same amount off animals around the tents. You do have to go app. 60 steps down by a steal ladder to get to the tent and again back up for eating and the safari starts so if you can not do stairs take this into consideration. Dinner was mainly western and tasteful. Breakfast is very nice and also tasteful. The staff there are very polite. We highly recommend this place if you want the safari tent vibe and a safari in Sri Lanka - especially if you want a block 1 starting point from a less crowded gate.

The location is paradise, the staff were amazing the food was wonderful… if thinking about booking my advice would be, not to hesitate, we do 2 safari’s book on the day of arrival with the hotel… there own vehicle & driver lunch & refreshments were provided, an all round amazing experience in this little slice of Paradise with zero light pollution (if you like star gazing)

Yala Safari Camping is such an incredible & unique experience. The tents are so nice, the staff is beyond incredible. I stayed as a solo female traveler back in December and I felt so safe and taken care of. They help coordinate two safaris for me during my stay. The wifi wasn’t working while I was there so they gave me a hotspot to borrow while I was staying so I could keep up with work calls and emails.

Such a wonderful experience, glamping tent in the jungle was very large and the bed was comfortable. Lunch on the first day was truly exceptional in taste, presentation and quantity. The best meal we have had to date in Sri Lanka. Staff and safari were special.

We absolutely loved our stay here. From dining under the stars by candlelight in the national park to waking up in the heart of the bush in our gorgeous accommodation- it was magical. Breakfast in the treetops was an unforgettable experience, and the entire setting felt like something out of a dream. Wow, what an experience. When we pulled up into the camp, there was an elephant just there (a tusker no less). The standards were consistently high from there. We were well looked after by the manager Ravi, with impeccable service throughout. My wife's gluten free requirement being well looked after. The views are stunning, the food was great. At camp we sat and watched birds, and beyond seeing an elephant we saw a leopard just crossing the road outside! Before going to bed... Shine a torch into the canopy overhead, and there was a polecat (civet), desperately climbing away from us! Two days of safari in yala, were two of the best of our lives. Elephants, leopards, bears, birds, jackals, buffalo... Achi (driver) made sure we didn't miss a thing. 10/10, if you love nature, don't hesitate to stay here. One thing to note is the price doesn’t include safari. Top tip - take ear plugs, you really are completely surrounded by nature all the time.

What an amazing time we had at yala safari camping! The place is magical - completely immersed in the jungle, with trees as far as the eye can see and the mountains in the distance. Our « tent » (it’s not really a tent, definitely more like a luxury cabin) was in front of a lily pad pond and the sounds of the frogs made it a super relaxing place to sleep. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and served a Sri Lankan meal with vegetable curries and jumbo prawns which was delicious. We then went on our first safari half day with Achi in block 5 where we spotted elephants, a leopard and plenty of monkeys, deers and various birds. The next day, we went to a full day drive on block 1 with Niro, and we loved how he spent time showing us various birds - from eagles to egret, kingfishers and bee-eaters - he had a keen eye to spot and we were fascinated with all that we discovered in the jungle. We even saw another leopard walking peacefully down the road, a family of elephants bathing, a malabar pied horn bill, painted storks, mongooses, monitor lizards, deer, grey langurs, and even Sri Lankan’s national animal the giant squirrel. On our last day, we went on a bush walk with Chamara, and walked through the forest and climbed a small mountain to get incredible views. Overall Ravi and his team gave us an unforgettable experience and were lovely, attentive and kind with great attention to detail across everthing. Definitely one to remember and return to!
