It may not be one of the many glitzy, sleek, spanking-new hotels sprouting up all over Bangkok, but the Furama Xclusive Sathorn is hard to beat on many other fronts : very spacious rooms, an excellent location (quiet surrounds, which belie the convenience of its well-connected locality), comfortable and welcoming, safe, naturally friendly unobtrusive service. At times, it pains me to give this hotel the good reviews it deserves - because part of me just wants to keep this great find a secret! :)

This was my second time staying here. The room is spacious, there is a kitchen, and I like the bathtub on the balcony. The staff are all friendly and work quickly. The breakfast is delicious and the menu changes slightly every day. There are many shortcuts from the hotel, so you can avoid traffic jams and it is in a quiet area. The room was cleaned well and kept clean. It is a 5-minute walk to the nearest convenience store, but if you just want a drink, the vending machine next to the lobby entrance is very convenient. I look forward to staying here again.

Superb hotel in great location in central Silom near almost everything a tourist could want. I booked a Premier room for 3 nights and was delighted when the young lady receptionist offered me an Executive room on the top floor which had an amazing view. 2 slight negatives. The sauna’s did not work and my room had a mini kitchen but no crockery etc.

Rooms were old and worn but service was good. We originally were placed in a smoking room in a bad location - double bad. They immediately moved us to an upgraded room in a nonsmoking area which we appreciated. We appreciated their willingness to help call taxis and the location was great, just a quick walk to food and the skytrain station!

VERY SCARY. The doorbell rang at my room. I saw a person in the keyhole and thought it must be my friend who was in another room. I opened the door and a man pushed to get in. I pushed back and he kept his hand in the door. He said he came to get his things. He said he would only take one thing. It went on for several minutes. We called the front desk. Eventually he realized he could not get in and removed his hand from the door. The front desk sent a bellhop with a baggage cart. I told him to get the police and find the thief. The front desk called and said they could not call the police because they didn’t have the details. I told them to get all staff to look for the thief and remove him. I heard much talking in the hallway for a while. I think staff was asking someone to leave the building. There was no further information from the front desk on the situation. This response is not sufficient. In the morning the front desk had only heard that a man got the rooms mixed up. The night manager must have been covering his mistakes. Very poor communication and response. The guest who let him in the building should have been removed. The manager must do a full security assessment and implement a plan including security improvements and staff training. Day manager said he would investigate. They said there was no footage from security cameras. Very poor response and second night was not comfortable after this.
