We booked for a weekend trip to Chiang Mai and I would recommend Goldenbell. We really enjoyed the staff. They were super friendly and extremely courteous. The breakfast was good for the price, and the street food and vendors a short 2 minute walk from the hotel was perfect.

Quiet hotel away from the main road. A dated hotel but had charm and character, sometimes I get fed up of fancy hotels and this one was old and tired but with lovely clean rooms with everything you would need. Free water and bathroom amenities. The price was cheap and affordable and in keeping with what the hotel offers, we walked easily into the town. The pool area is not great but it’s there and functional and so if you just want a cool dip then it’s perfect.

Room was very nice, clean, and well cared for. Bathroom was excellent, especially the shower. When your in a hot place like Thailand, you will be taking showers often it was nice to enjoy the experience. Toiletries were well stocked and we were not lacking anything. Breakfast had a moderate selection and was ok, but nothing special. One thing we didn't like about the experience was that on our first day, we arrived before the check-in time and although the hotel staff allowed us to leave our luggage in the lobby until later, they didn't lock it up. When we arrived a few hours later (after exploring Chiang Mai), we found our luggage in the same spot where we left it, right next to the entrance of the hotel. I brought up my concern with the staff and they said they were watching it. Considering there were only 1-2 people at the check-in, it would have been easy for my luggage to be stolen. Thankfully nothing happened.

When your in a hot place like Thailand, you will be taking showers often it was nice to enjoy the experience. Toiletries were well stocked and we were not lacking anything. Breakfast had a moderate selection and was ok, but nothing special. One thing we didn't like about the experience was that on our first day, we arrived before the check-in time and although the hotel staff allowed us to leave our luggage in the lobby until later, they didn't lock it up. When we arrived a few hours later (after exploring Chiang Mai), we found our luggage in the same spot where we left it, right next to the entrance of the hotel. I brought up my concern with the staff and they said they were watching it. Considering there were only 1-2 people at the check-in, it would have been easy for my luggage to be stolen. Thankfully nothing happened.
