A basic guest house, nice enough staff but some attention to decor needed.

Well situated close to colleges and pub's

Good breakfast variety! (Has gluten-free & vegan options etc. even a takeaway breakfast sandwich!) And just generally lovely service! ❤️

Great staycst the Washington. I loved the older feel of this hotel and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I think the place is just needing some redecoration where paint is ageing and chipping. Loved the fresh ground coffee option in the room, just maybe needed a little more of that in the jar. I would stay here again.

The location was great for exploring Bristol. We were very lucky to be able to park at the hotel. The breakfast and service was excellent. However the hotel was very tired and not as clean as it should have been. When we went to our room the dirty towels and bedding were outside our door so we had to step over them. They were eventually removed once we contacted reception. It was good value but could have been cleaner.

J'ai passé 2 nuits dans l'hôtel et tout s'est bien passé ! Le quartier est mignon et calme avec pas mal de restaurants, bars et l'université. Proche à pieds du Wills Memorial Building dont je conseille la visite et de la tour Cabot. Assez proche également du pont suspendu et du centre en marchant un petit peu, sinon, bien accessible en transports.

Die Lage des Hotels war wirklich ideal und sehr zentral gelegen. Zudem war das Personal sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer war eher nur für einen kurzen Aufenthalt geeignet. Außer ein paar Bügeln hatte man kaum Ablagemöglichkeit. Bei einem längeren Aufenthalt so wie bei mir hat man quasi nur aus dem Koffer gelebt. Die Außenwände waren zudem mit weißem Schimmel überzogen. Was ich außerdem sehr unaufmerksam fand war, dass das Zimmer trotz 6 Übernachtungen kein einziges Mal gereinigt wurde, keine Handtücher gewechselt wurden, Tee und Kaffee nicht aufgefüllt und der Abfall ebenfalls nicht geleert wurde.

When we arrived the stair case was in desperate need of hoovering. Double sockets on wall on bedroom were too low to get plugs in and were loose. The bath taps were reverse; cold tap hot and hot tap cold.

Great location, excellent breakfast

The Washington is great value. Katia on check in was lovely. Shared bathroom was clean with a good shower. Street parking just outside for free but it was a Sunday. A good breakfast. Will definitely stay there again

The staff were all professional and helpful. The bathroom was tired, mouldy and not as shown in the photos - the shower was very weak and old. The breakfast was poor - quality of food very low and limited selection of buffet items. On arrival you are immediately asked for your card details and expected to sign your agreement that you will pay £50(!) If you lose a key ...no fault of the receptionist (she is just following process) but not the way to welcome guests. Parking is an additional fee of £12 per night.

Friendly staff, but bed was very uncomfortable, the room was noticeably dusty, the bathroom is really in need of some care and cleaning of the mould around the shower.

Things to applaud -Reception staffs are friendly, resourceful to answer guest's questions and requests; -Breakfast staffs are patiently waiting for your order, and tried their best to fulfill each guest's need; -Housing keeping staffs are helpful to refill guestroom suppliers and change bedding upon request; -Great english breakfast, nice location in the city to access everything; -Land line phone is available in the room to make outgoing local call, I find it handy and useful if you don't want to pay for roaming charges while traveling; Things to improve -Hotel is quite old that you can smell the scent of wood/carpet especially during the humid day; -Window is single panel only and will have condensation, also noted that there is no window screen if you want to open the window; -Hotel room is not sound proof, you can hear noise from upstairs, neighbors, and from the street; -Water pressure is not balanced during shower in the bathroom, you will feel hot and cold; -Radiators in the room and bathroom are not effective, also they were scheduled to be on at night only for few hours; -Breakfast could have more varieties for different days especially if you plan to stay longer, but I can understand the challenges with just a few staffs in the kitchen;
