Far too hot to sleep in, handheld fans will not blow hot air around a room so really uncomfortable Shower water pressure was awful. You’d get a better shower in fine rain.

Good hôtel for the price but old.

Thankfully we only stayed for one night. The room (number 4) itself was a good size and being on the ground floor, was perfect for getting overnight bags and the dog in. The hot water tap was in need of repair, sometimes water came out of the tap other times it was a trickle. The basin was missing a plug for the basin. I did raise both issues with reception staff. I wasn't expecting maintenance staff to come running on a Saturday afternoon, needless to say the tap wasn't fixed when we arrived back to the room early evening. I was given a plug for the basin, unfortunately it was a sink plug therefore useless, by now B&Q who are conveniently positioned next door was closed. Sunday morning, we went for breakfast, a member of staff said it was a buffet (I think £12.99 each). I wouldn't say it was value for money unless you like a fry-up. To be fair the staff did make scrambled egg. I asked if there was cold meat, cheese etc which there wasn't. Whilst waiting for the scrambled eggs to arrive I popped to Tesco Express, again perfect location👌. I was able to buy cold meat, cheese and salmon. When the staff asked if everything was ok having arrived with the scrambled egg, I replied 'yes thank you, thank goodness Tesco are next door.' I was disappointed to receive an email today from Expedia, asking how was our complementary breakfast ? There was no mention of this hence paying separately for the breakfast.

I stayed at this hotel for one night and found it awful. I’ve stayed here in the past with no issues whatsoever but that didn’t seem to be the case this time around. To begin the room wasn’t entirely clean and felt as though only the bed had been changed from the previous guests. Upon using the bathroom, we quickly noticed there was no hand soap. After calling reception (multiple times before eventually getting through) to mend this issue (and the issue of terrible pillows) we was told they do not have nor do they offer hand soap in the bathroom but will do their best to enquire some for us. He later knocked on the door with some new pillows and a mini bottle of body wash to use for our hands. After this we decided to use the shower which wasn’t the best in its self but soon discovered the towels seemed very old, fraying at all the edges and very worn down throughout, so much so the material had thinned and nearly turns into holes. We didn’t mention this to reception as we had enough by this point. We payed an additional few for our room to be larger but somehow managed to get a smaller room than before and wasn’t even provided with basic hygiene equipment. Had a terrible nights sleep. Overall I am very disappointed with this stay and will not be returning.

Nice quintasential old english hotel ... but in need of beautification and retro-fit of basics like air conditioning. Hotel layout was like a maze from multiple additions over the decades. Nice location and relaxing garden for a quiet drink. We arrived over a bank holiday weekend and unfortunatel only two staff were on with the others having not turned up for work. The two staff members were overworked but stayed friendly and very helpful. Needs some basic maintenace (paint peeling) but very nice in bar, restraunt and lounge. Really enoyed out stay.

Very run down hotel, pipes clanking at 4am and a very dated room.

It’s a little bit dated in some parts. The rooms could do with a modern upgrade, digital TVs with Netflix and YouTube streaming for example. The showers were really poor in water power and dribbled. The pillows were pretty flat and not too comfortable. But the staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty but that toaster was screeching in the background and made it uncomfortable to remain too long in the dining area.

The room and hotel was not what was advertised. Pros - - spacious room - plenty free parking spot - tea & coffee options in the room - comfortable clean bed - loads of storage - iron and ironing board - huge bed - loads of storage area Cons - The room was failing and in desperate need of renovation or even a lick of fresh paint. I dared not touch the kettle as it was covered with limescale. The carpet needs replacing, windows needs fixing. Door is so loud when closed. Overall feel, it is good walking distance to town, pubs ,morrisson etc. Tesco express is just beside the hotel so a bonus. So a Yes to the location but definitely not how it was advertised .

Good hotel providing excellent value for money. Room was not fancy but had everything I needed. Bathroom had been modernised and had a new walk in shower replacing the bath which I was very pleased with.

The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond with providing information on the surrounding areas. Hotel felt safe and inviting.

Whilst the room could have done with a little update - fraying carpets and old furniture being held up with paper underneath the legs - it was an amazing experience. The hotel has an old period charm and sits perfectly in the Ditton Village area. I did not have an opportunity to try the breakfast, but hopefully next time I can. A really lovely stay and very polite, helpful staff.
