Everything was lovely

The property was in a quiet location & only 10 minute walk to the old city walls & shopping areas. Car parking isnt on site but there is allocated on-road parking nearby. Breakfast was nice but you have to choose your breakfast selection the evening before. Probably best to book a first floor bedroom rather than second as our room was small & sounded like it was close to a heating boiler or something running all night. The room was clean but had a sliding bathroom door for space which didnt shut properly & only 1 spare socket not near any mirror or table.

I can only review our room named The Shambles. It was small, located in the roof space so a lot of the room had the roof slope cutting off the space available. There was tea and coffee provided but only 5 teabags on day 1 & 4 on day 2 also a minimal supply of uht milk cartons. The unit these were situated on was about 40cm high so you had to sit to brew up or bend over a long way. A small kettle took about 10mins to boil 2 cups worth of water There was one small low down bedroom type chair for two of us. The bathroom door was a sliding door with no rail at the bottom so it was impossible to open and close without it banging into the frame. The biggest problem for us was that the walls are very thin and the people in the two neighbouring rooms could be heard when going about their normal business. They disturbed us and I am sure we disturbed them. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. The breakfast is tasty but not plentiful, my portion of mushrooms consisted of one mushroom about 5cm in diameter, on the second day it consisted of two mushrooms! There is one DIY domestic toaster for up to 14 people! There is a full page, in great detail, in the guest information book informing guests how much they will charged if they damage anything! The guest house is well located for York's attractions being about ten minutes walk from the centre. All the staff were very friendly and helpful it is clean and warm, but it is not a cheap place, I would expect more for the money paid.

Walkable in to town, clean and roomy, good options for breakfast. Would have benefited from a message in advance of arrival with instructions for arrival but otherwise a good property.

Very convenient to check in and stay

Just one night stay for the races. Parking simple and room very spacious. Highlight was the local bread available for breakfast. Top banana.

Very friendly and clean place ..

Great place to stay within easy walking distance of the town walls. We booked the Ebor suite. It was comfortable and spacious. Staff were friendly and accomodating- especially when we needed to leave early.
