Made to feel very welcome. Great location, lovely breakfast. Would stay again.

Walkable in to town, clean and roomy, good options for breakfast. Would have benefited from a message in advance of arrival with instructions for arrival but otherwise a good property.

A lovely 2 night stay. Lovely staff, lovely room, lovely breakfast and walking distance into centre. Thank you. We will definitely return

Very convenient to check in and stay

Just one night stay for the races. Parking simple and room very spacious. Highlight was the local bread available for breakfast. Top banana.

Very friendly and clean place ..

Great place to stay within easy walking distance of the town walls. We booked the Ebor suite. It was comfortable and spacious. Staff were friendly and accomodating- especially when we needed to leave early.

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were wonderful and accommating, gave us tips on places and restaurants to go to. Its only a short walk to the centre and to the riverside - extremely convenient. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options and fresh bread each morning - 3 different kinds! Downsides - The walls were thin and on our last night we could hear the room next to us snoring. Also we had a problem with parking where all spaces were taken due to an event so we had to drive out of the centre to a pub nearby for a couple hours and wait and hope there was space when we got back which luckily there was 1 space. Overall a wondeful stay and we will be back.

Great welcome from Jamie, wonderful room (we chose the Ebor) as it gave that extra bit of space and would definitely return.

Lovely location lovely room we stayed in. The pillows was slightly hard and the mattress was hard as well. Nice breakfast choice although on the full English there was no hash brown. This would have been a good point for me. Rooms are very hollow can hear everything from the next rooms. Lovely people very friendly and very polite.

Very friendly helpful staff and instructions before arrival and during my stay. Clean and tidy room. Walls not sound proof so spent the night listening to a neighbour snoring unfortunately but very comfortable bed. Carpet was vacuumed but could do with a shampoo. Excellent breakfast. Tea and coffee making facilities and nice toiletries. Thank you.

Enjoyed our stay at St Raphael Guest House. Very well located ...just a 7 - 8 minute walk to York Minster or York Museum or the theatre. Another few minutes and you are in the heart of the city. Only small gripe...shower enclosure is very small and a bit cramped. Otherwise can highly recommend.

Great place to stay in york, staff were lovely and amazing. Breakfast was amazing. My place to stay in york from now on. Manager was a lovely man, and his staff were perfect. Room was amazing and more than we needed. Great location for york city centre.

Lovely place to stay. Clean, warm and welcoming. Good choice on breakfast cooked well and accommodating. Ideal location only 10 min walk to the walls.

Lovely guest house within easy walking distance of York, it's sites and the Christmas Market. Parking was available nearby. Danny and the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable of the area and always willing to help. The choice and quality of food available for breakfast was excellent. The rooms were very spacious and welcoming and the beds were very comfy. Will return and would definitely recommend.

We chose to stay at St Raphael's after reading excellent reviews about the guest house, & every one was right! A very comfortable, clean room, with a powerful shower, towels, toiletries & tea/coffee etc provided. The cooked breakfast was always piping hot & perfectly cooked, & the freshly baked bread was delicious. The hosts were very attentive & also very knowledgeable about the area - the guest house is within a 10 minute walk of York minster, & given the amount of traffic, free parking during your stay is another bonus. Our room was called Stonegate, which is the first room at the top of the stairs. This is handy when carrying your case upstairs, but not so good when other guests traipse past rather noisily to their own rooms. Added to this, the house is old & creaks quite a lot, & other guests can be heard moving about, coughing etc. I have mentioned both good & not so good points about our stay, so that there are no surprises, but would add that we will happily revisit St Raphael's in future.

A fantastic location with very friendly, helpful staff. The price was beyond competitive considering the parking and breakfast were included. The only negative would be that the towels were a little fusty but overall a great stay and i would definitely book again if i was visiting york.
