At check-in, we were told that the rooms are cleaned every other day; however, our room was only cleaned once during our six-night stay. I was disappointed that this happened, as we had a huge pile of towels and garbage that needed to be emptied.

Here’s a polished review you could post: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We absolutely loved our stay at Moxy Downtown Halifax! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was unlike any hotel we’ve stayed at. It’s modern, fun, and has so much personality. The lobby is such a great space to hang out, with Jenga, Pac-Man, and other games that make it feel more like a social lounge than just a hotel. You even get a complimentary welcome drink when you check in, which is such a nice touch. We also took advantage of happy hour at the bar, where cocktails were half price, and the food was perfect for an afternoon snack or a late-night bite. The rooms were spotless, modern, spacious enough for four people, and had everything we needed. One of our favourite features was the self-serve communal closet stocked with extra towels, pillows, toiletries, steamers, and other essentials. If you need anything else, the staff are more than happy to help. The complimentary extras throughout the day really made our stay stand out. There was fresh trail mix available in the afternoon, lemonade and fruit punch to help yourself to, and complimentary tea and coffee every morning. The location is also fantastic—just a short, enjoyable walk to the waterfront, with plenty to see along the way. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the room was very small and the bed was hard and uncomfortable. There was some extremely thin blanket and the pillows were flat. Had breakfast there and it took over half an hour just to get the menus.

Great location. Excellent bar restaurant onsite. Rooms are very small and no coffee maker or fridge but cozy and comfortable.

The idea of the hotel is cool but didn’t really deliver. It felt like any other hotel but without breakfast included. The check in staff were great. They held our bags when we arrived early and gave us a better room because we were staying for longer than originally planned. We found some of the bar staff later to be rude which completely killed the social vibe the hotel is going for. As a result we chose to spend our money on drinks elsewhere. The price was better than most other places in Halifax and the rooms were clean and had what we needed. I’d recommend people stay here if the price was right but in my opinion you’re not going to experience anything different than any other hotel.

Hip vibe. Convenient location. Refreshments provided (coffee, tea, lemonade), lobby has lots of games (Connect 4, Jenga, etc) and very helpful staff. I would highly recommend.

Great price and just a short walk downtown, as well as friendly and capable staff. Also a fun lobby with old games. Two negatives would be a lack of surfaces in the room, and sound concerns. There is a fold down desk, and a small side table with limited space. Beyond that is just a small raised luggage foldable and the windowsill. We could also hear into the hall and outside more easily than I would have guessed, especially considering we were 6 floors up. I would suggest bringing ear plugs or just a white noise device.

Restaurant on the property was helpful

Bad customer service, the room was not ready at 3 pm even after arriving early . Iv stayed in better hotels in that area . The staff told my kids to stop playing rough while waiting for the room . They are 2 boys who had been travelling al morning and were in lounge meant to play lol . Not kid friendly.

The air conditioner in the rooms was very loud and hard to sleep with the noise .

Great modern hotel with some personality. Walking distance to the Citadel and boardwalk with dozens of bars and rstaurants.

The main lobby is a bar with great cocktails and plenty of entertainment in the evenings.

Less noisy AC

My room wasn't what I needed. (1) there was no chair to sit and read in, and (2) no reading lamp. (3) There was no table to work at with computer and files. (4) One couldn't get rid of the window shades and only limited daylight came into the room. (5) The bathroom sink didn't drain well and so when yo when back to use it a second time it was just a little gross. (6) the bed was good and so (7) was the shower in the bathroom. (8) The way the place is decorated -- it's very busy -- seems a little kindergarden-ish. (9) None of the art in the lobby or the elevators would give any one a clue that they were in Halifax, Nova Scotia. (10) Too pop-Americana for most Canadians.

The room had a broken refrigerator and one flat pillow each. No side table, not enough blankets in the bed . Also the air conditioner kept kicking in and out and keeping me awake. The free cocktail had no liquor in it.

Staff were very accommodating and quick to respond to issues. The only disadvantage is the lack of storage space in rooms. No closet area.

Great hotel in a great location. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in Halifax. Staff is lovely and knowledgeable about the area.

I travelled on a girl's trip with one other person. The hotel lobby was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was great for the two of us. We each had our own bed with a half wall separating us for a bit of privacy. Our beds were very comfortable. The bathroom had everything one would need and if you forgot something, there was a locker at the end of our hall with the extras (toothpaste, extra towels, blankets, feminine products). The hotel provided coffee and tea in the morning which we took outside to sit on the beautiful patio. Although we didn't use all the spaces, there was plenty of seating space inside and outside depending on what you were looking for (i.e. couches on the back patio, egg chairs in the front, high tops and couches in the lobby, tables to sit at). There were plenty of games in the lobby you could choose from (board games, video games foosball table). At the end of the trip, we had a late flight and were able to store our luggage in a locker in the lobby and our larger suitcases in a room at no additional charge. Location: close to Citadel Hill and Casino. If you like to walk, it is about a 7 minute walk downhill to the water and probably another 10 back up! So many other pluses to this stay!
