Cleanness of the room was very good bin and towels change daily. Staff very friendly and helpful Breakfast not bad good been quick replacing item that run out. Only thing wrong was not window good open. Because I like fresh air it helps me breathe better

Here's a polished hotel review based on your experience: We recently stayed for four nights at this hotel, which was advertised as dog-friendly. Unfortunately, our experience did not match that description. On arrival, there was no sign of any dog-friendly amenities in the room, and we were initially allocated a room on a floor where dogs were not permitted, resulting in a wait while an alternative room was prepared. We were also disappointed to discover the numerous restrictions placed on dogs. Dogs were not allowed on the beds, in the restaurant, or in the bar area. While we understand that some rules are necessary, these restrictions made it difficult to understand how the hotel can market itself as genuinely dog-friendly. Had this been made clearer before booking, we would likely have chosen alternative accommodation. The staff were friendly and polite, but service was generally slow. On one occasion, it took around 40 minutes to receive four coffees despite there being only a handful of customers in the bar. Another disappointment was the lack of evening meals, which was not clearly advertised when booking. Overall, while the staff were pleasant, the hotel did not meet our expectations, particularly regarding its dog-friendly claims. Greater transparency about the restrictions and facilities available would help guests make a more informed choice before booking.

Very good room and clean

It was okay ..attention to detail not great but basically everything was ok including the breakfast which wasn’t replenished very often and the coffee out of the machine was terrible … and nothing available to eat after 5pm and no spa experience either..which is still advertised

My room was very clean and it was easy to obtain supplies if needed. The housekeeping team was friendly and the quality of their work was excellent. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice although I would have preferred the option of fried or poached eggs and some hash browns. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

After not staying at this Ibis for 6 months in the hope it would have improved I am sorely disappointed. Prior to check in, I had completed the necessary forms - the staff apparently could not print them, so I had to do a paper copy, whilst I filling this form out a member of staff was running around with a fly zapper, whilst his colleague filmed it whilst laughing. I get to my room, there is bacon on the floor and no complimentary water (which hotels.com list in premium rooms) there was no hairdryer in the room, just an empty bag. I had booked this room for a decent night's sleep after a busy few weeks, so what happens at 3.55am the fire alarm goes off. Who doesnt love being woken at that hour?! I will say the volume of the alarm is impressive, there is zero chance of sleeping through it. So, we all get to go outside in pyjamas, enjoy 4am air and await a fire truck. Obviously, there was no fire, so we are back in 25 minutes later, but of course the noise of hundreds of guests trying to get back into rooms means sleep evaded me for a long time. I woke up so late I could not shower and had a truly terrible day. As this hotel is twinned with the Mercure the biggest issue it faces is staff seem to work at both locations, but don't seem to be trained on both computer systems. If the alarm had not gone off it would have been 4/5 but I visit hotels wanting a good night's sleep. This hotel seems to be beset by emergency services needing to visit.

Breakfast was OK.Just no choice of eggs.Either scrambled or nothing.Would have liked poached or fried.Also no evening meals available but Spinning Wheel did good reasonably priced food.

The showers soakes the floor but only stayed 1 night so wasn't bothered

A clean and modern minimalistic (read basic) hotel. There were a few gripes:- the room offered an ironing board(!), but no glass by the sink to rinse your teeth. The shower head was hand-held - no overhead shower so impossible to enjoy or wash properly. Only 4 tea bags, so not generous! Beware of being sold a car-parking space for £15 when you arrive, as there is very few and if you leave for the evening, it's unlikely that you will get a space on your return, which leaves you to look for a public overnight car park. I complained, and to be fair, was refunded without a problem. They could offer a lot more without it costing them much.

Very nice stay, friendly staff, clean room, quiet at night, so all in all a pleasant stay.

Really disappointed. Regularly visit Paignton and usually stay in the Travelodge. Thought that staying at the relatively new Ibis Styles would be an upgrade.... How wrong could I be. Check in was really good. The member of staff that checked us in was friendly and genuine. From that point it all went downhill. The design of the shower room doesn't work. It has a channel drain across the shower that doesn't collect the water. It has a half width shower partition that doesn't reach the floor. The water that splashes off of your body, hits the screen and runs down beyond the channel and floods the bathroom floor. To prevent this you have to put down a towel which ends up completely soaked. We noticed that after having a shower, the drain smelt of urine for 2 hours afterwards. This happened on all three days. The second morning breakfast was farcical. We arrived about 8.50am and hit problems from the start. There were no mugs available for the coffee and we had to wait. Then no plates for toast, pastries etc for about 20 minutes then these items started running out. It then got worse. Food items were running out and not getting replenished quickly. A lady was told the eggs would be 3-4 minutes, so I dished up the rest of my cooked items and made a start. They finally arrived over 10+15 minutes later. I had finished. No plates were available for about 15 on the pastries/fruit station. Value for money (Inc parking) was far worse than the Travelodge. Quality was worse.

Check in was quick and got car parking. Room was clean, good sleep as bed was comfy and very quiet. Breakfast was good, enjoyed the stay.

Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Room had a modern look to it although the shower was badly designed, water leaks into the main bathroom area, constantly had a wet floor. But overall nice place.

The staff at this hotel are lovely. Very helpful and friendly.

The room was nice enough, but I wish we’d have opted for a standard double rather than premium with a ‘sea view’. The sea was obscured by the fairground, so we’d have been better off with a courtyard view, which I would have assumed would have also been less noisy. The bed was huge, which was lovely - but only three pillows were provided, with no spares, so wasn’t hugely comfortable. The bathroom was lovely, however the design of the shower meant most of the bathroom floor ended up wet. The breakfast was a real let down, and both myself and my partner regretted booking it and would have preferred to have gone elsewhere. We arrived downstairs at about 9:30 (aware from the posters displayed that the hotel recognised this as their busiest period) and were met with literally nothing at the buffet. There was no bread, beans, mushroom or egg. Just sausages. I’m a vegetarian, so this was of no use to me. Other guests were complaining that they had been waiting a substantial amount of time for additional/replacement items to be put out despite letting staff know that things had run out. After about 15 minutes extras started to arrived, but in dribs and drabs - so it wasn’t possible to get a ‘full’ plate of breakfast. Having worked in hospitality, if you advertise a period as your busiest time, then surely you should be well prepped to ensure replenishments are available.

Ibis did not provide breakfast on day 1 and we had to go next door to the sister hotel Mercure. Following day Ibis was supposed to provide breakfast but when we went down tables hadn't been cleared and there was little food. We were told there was a problem with the kitchen and we had to go next door again to the Mercure. That night we went to the bar and it was covered in dirty glasses and the girl behind the bar was barely coping. They seem to have a shortage of staff or at the very least issues.

Comfortable stay for a quick weekend break.
