Little National Hotel Canberra

One of the best quiet hotels, great rooms and the longue and library parts of the hotel are wonderful spaces to chill and work, if the rooms are too cramp for you. Cosy rooms and comfortable beds make this a wonderful place to stay.

Clean and well appointed comfortable room, friendly staff and good communication. Very easy and fast check in and out. The rate for the room was fantastic for what was included.

Did everything right

I've not stayed here for a few years and there has been much development around which makes reception a bit harder to find these days, but still a great place to stay. Rooms, beds, facilities all awesome. Highly recommend.

The strong smell of epoxy glue upon arrival as renovation being done in reception area. Construction noise in my room on the fifth floor as renovation bring done in the bar area and restaurant. Closed bar and restaurant due to renovation works

Arrival instructions are out of date and sent us to a construction site. Our room had a strange smell. We tried running the taps for a while because we thought the smell was coming from a drain in the bathroom but it didn’t go away. Using the aircon helped it to dissipate - but as soon as we turned the aircon off the smell returned. The bed was way too soft and we had such an uncomfortable night feeling like we suffocating in the plush cushiony bed!

Excellent room and setup

Stayed at this hotel five times in the last two months and last time they put me in an inside room facing some pot plants. It wasn’t a busy weekend, there doesn’t seem to be any recognition from this company if you’re a frequent customer. Just the opposite, I was punished!

Pretty good hotel. Though more of a car park above hotel. Like everyone else in Canberra they seem to be obsessed with driving. I know it’s not a very walkable city but I have managed just fine getting around on foot with a little effort. The hotel has super wide hallways, but the rooms are a little narrow. Very trusting hotel so it was nice to be treated like a grown for a change. Great A/C also and the movie selection was a treat. No need to go out in Canberra a night (there’s nothing to do anyway, everyone is too boring). I would recommend it and stay there again.

The bed was the most comfortable cozy bed ever. Loved it. The amenities were excellent. The construction made it difficult to park. Never got the TV to work but don’t care much about that

“Little” is the operative term. The facilities are clean and modern. There is a nice lounge/working area but no restaurant (breakfast is available at a sister hotel across the street). It is ideal for a single working visitor but not enough space for two people .. the bed takes up a considerable portion of the room and can comfortably accommodate only one person

I like the ambience of this hotel and the staff are cheerful professional and friendly but the only request I made to them, for a printout of my invoice, they were unable to fulfill, apparently the printer was broken. The night before when I asked they said to go get my own copy in the library. If I asked them to get me an invoice why couldn’t they do it. I’m a 63 year old male, I need breakfast before I can deal with a printer. I thought it was pretty poor they wouldn’t help me with my request.
