Black Rock Oceanfront Resort

We had an amazing stay at Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet. The oceanfront location is stunning, with incredible views and a peaceful atmosphere. The resort is pet-friendly, and our dog absolutely loved it, which made the stay even better. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and the food was outstanding. Friendly staff, great dining, and an unbeatable setting. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

Pros: the rooms were big and clean and the location was convienent for trails and the town. Cons: Although the staff were friendly, the staff nor the managers cared about whether you were actually satisfied with your stay. The resort is not equipped to handle full capacity. We stayed four nights and were not able to have a hot shower. They advised that the hot water tank was not large enough and that they were fixing this issue. From reading other reviews, this seems to be an ongoing problem. They apparently added a hot water tank on new years eve while we were there, even asking that no guests use the hot water for one to two hours between 4 pm and 6 pm on new years eve ro fix it. This did not fix the problem and was extremely inconvenient timing to not have hot water given that was when we were getting ready to go out for New Years Eve. They also hosted an event on new years eve and did not reserve parking for people staying at the hotel, despite it being included in our stay. When we returned from dinner, there was no parking available. When we asked the front desk, the manager came over and said just park in the staff lot. There was also no parking available there. The surprising part of it all is they offered nothing for the inconvenience of them overbooking the resort. So in short, the resort is fine, but for the price, you could go somewhere just as nice that actual cares whether their guests are happy with their stay.

Room is always clean and welcoming. We had the view of the forest and ocean, great mix! We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and lunch (once each) during our stay. Food is good but it is pricey, if you can buy groceries and make in your room. My only small complaint, we ordered wings and salad from the lounge and she took our room number to call when ready. They didn’t and our food was left out for us to pick up and said they didn’t have the number. Not a complaint, just annoying

Originally given a room that was not clean or nice. But when i mentioned my unsatisfaction, staff moved us to a better room.

Great view, food was fine but not great. Long walk from our space to the hot tubs.

Staff was friendly, room was nice, huge bathroom. I am allergic to animal fur and we had a pet-free room so no allergies. Excellent viewxfrom the restaurant. Good lacation.

It’s been a wonderful stay at this magnificent hotel which is situated direct by the sea. Our suite was spacious, pet-friendly and equipped with everything one needs for a convenient vacation. The view was absolutely spectacular. Definitely worth the long drive and the visit. We’ll come again!

This is my go to hotel close to Tofino. Excellent food, restaurant and rooms. They should add a sauna, though! Pet friendly. Clean room, wonderful staff.

Room was clean and a beautiful view. Staff were fantastic and restaurants were quite good. The TV's in the room were difficulties and channels were limited but still was a great stay. Wonderful hiking trails.

Beautiful Rooms! Perfect location!

Room was great, we had a rainforest side and appreciated the comfy robes, amazing storm watching jackets, heated bathroom floors and lighting options. Food was great, steak frites and burger were just right and service was great all around. It was a really good deal to visit off season, and we could watch the storm waves right from the hot tub. Didn’t need to leave too much and as island locals it was nice to just sit still and chill on this visit.

Great staff, chocolate chip cookies on arrival. Heated floors in the bathroom, rain coats in the room… they really thought of everything !
