Very room dependent. One stay had an renovated room with some window shutter or something that banged in the wind. Other was a nice room. Lots of history to hotel and we'll located.

Staff were excellent and very helpful. I booked the executive room and it was very spacious and comfortable and shower room was great! Bedroom walls could do with some dusting or better still a touch up of paint. Centrally located for city centre. Would stay again. My highlight was the staff at check in. Very courteous and helpful.

Budget price is reflected in the condition of doors and walls. Bathroom really nice though.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL Awful hotel, Awful experience The images on the website are a lie and the hotel DOES NOT look like this. The rooms are completely run down, Basic to none amenities in the room Rooms are old dirty and dated Housing keeping does not come daily to change towels Staff unhelpful Homeless people sleeping outside the steps of hotel. This is known to be the worst hotels in Liverpool by the taxi drivers

Still a grand hotel in my book. Nice big room and bath room. Comfy bed. Very central. Great price.

Le chauffage était bloqué au maximum (sans molette pour régler) et la fenêtre ne s'ouvre pas. les couloirs et la chambre avec moquette épaisse ne sentent pas très bon. avantages: l'emplacement idéal pour visiter Liverpool à pieds et le parking certes payant, mais à proximité Chambre vieillotte mais salle de bain rénovée parfaite

Breakfast buffet was good value for money. Room was clean but incredibly hot with no way of controlling the temperature of the radiator. Comfortable bed and good shower/wc room which appeared to have been recently refurbished. Check in was easy, friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bar with reasonably priced drinks.

The romm was of good size with views across the city towards the docks.

Very nice stay

Patched over leakage, strong smell of something unidentifiable in the room. Pills laying in the coreners of the stairs, overall a hotel which could have been a wonderful magnificent experience. Around 100 years ago. Since then it felt like nothing special had been attended to. The smell, and overall impression of the hotel left much wanting. Sorry to say, for the price we payed and the "three star" rating. This wasn't really what we were expecting. I know the UK standards when it comes to the star rating is really not meeting the expectation of the rest of the world but this was definitely something i underestimated and a new low mark for me. If i were to have traveled with my wife she would have never entered the room due to just the scent. So yeah, the city itself was delightful. The Hotel, left a lot wanting from the price we payed. Especially the weekend rate. That was unbelievable compared to the following mon/tuesday rate. If the entire stay was in the mon/tuesday rate i would have a lot easier to accept the standard of the hotel. Cause then it would have been cheap.

The hotel was very central for what we needed. Although the staff were polite there was no other interaction. Even though I checked in online I still waited 19-15 minutes to get the key. When I mentioned I had added breakfast on and needed to pay for it as the room was pre-paid. He had no idea!. Then looked and apparently found the note. We asked for another bulb for the lamp in the room and was asked whether we tried all the other sockets first. Yes we had and then tried the bulb on the other lamp which worked. It was clearly the bulb. Maybe because we were two girls he thought were couldn’t work that out. The hotel definitely needs updating. A lot of peeling paint in the room and bathroom. Breakfast was lovely. Lots of choice.

Clean room and staff

The scent that struck you when entering the room on the fifth floor was really something else, there was a huge water leak in the hallway ceiling going up to the room and the scent was "pungent" to say the least. In the room itself the wall paper was falling of the wall in one corner of the room. We stayed during 4 nights and there was no cleaning at all made from cleaners during that time, i needed to collect new towels myself from a cleaning lady in the hallway to get new ones. Yes, she passed by the room in the hallway, but didn't enter....... The good thing was there was no bed bugs (lived with a guy who are working with sanitation of those pests) and there was hot water so i didn't have to shower in cold water. We were there just having beers and watching football, and yeah, we have no high demands at all. However if our wives were with us we would have NEVER gotten to stay at that hotel. Not a chance. The smell alone would get them running. And to be frank, it was almost to much for us as well. But the human body adapts when there is a risk of missing out on the enjoyment of beer and football so we overcame. This hotel will be one of the worst ones i've stayed in. And I've traveled alot in eastern europe. So, you just have to accept that a 3 star hotel in the UK is 1,5star in the rest of the world. Saying this, we never dared having their breakfast. And that decision I'm glad for.
