The receptionist was courteous and friendly. The apartment was clean and beautifully furnished and was great for us to stay in for a couple of nights. The paintwork needs a make over in the bedroom and bathroom and a new carpet in the bedroom but as they are renovating the outside I am assuming all this is on their to do list. It was a good stay though.

Only a short strip from the centre and parking is a real bonus. Nice building and cosy bar area. Breakfast was help yourself and had good variety. Our room was directly above reception so on the road we could hear cars. Also the telephone started to ring loudly at reception at 7am which woke us. Other than that it was nice and good value for money.

The room was not very clean. The shower has mildew growing between the shower tiles and around the exterior rim of the tub. There were spiders and a ton of cobwebs in the corners of the rooms. The carpet was dirty. The kitchen did not have enough plates for the number of beds offered. We did not use parking or the breakfast. The service was adequate, but we got locked out of the back door at 10am. We did enjoy our stay, and would stay again- but with the knowledge that this is not a 5-star stay

Pros Good decor. Olde Worlde feel. Clean. Tidy. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable bed. Proximity to city. Spacious free parking. Cons Bar drinks very expensive

Hotel and grounds are great staff was lovley breakfast was brilliant room was lovley would reccomend this hotel great value for money added bonus free parking just a 10 min walk to canterbury town

Le parking est très pratique et l'hôtel permet aux hôtes d'y rester toute la journée du départ. Nous avons loué à deux reprises les appartements complets situés sous l'hôtel. Ces derniers sont très spacieux, confortables et extrêmement bien équipés (en particulier la cuisine et la litterie). Nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir lors de notre prochain voyage à Canterbury.

Staff Friendly. Thick external walls so quite sound proofed. Would recommend

Good parking, convenient for the city. Cottage was tired in places and would benefit from deep clean and lick of paint in places. Not bad for the price, but wouldn't take alot of money/time to make it excellent.

The room was clean and spacious, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfasts was a good choice of English and continental breakfast, if you are travelling by car to the hotel then you have plenty of space in to park, i travelled to Canterbury by train, the nearest station is Canterbury east

The staff were all welcoming and attentive. The hotel was very clean. The bed was the comfiest we've ever had.

Bigger breakfast plates and warmer hot tub needed other than that perfect hotel

We liked the four poster bed and the bathroom was big and clean. The breakfast was brilliant and the staff were very friendly

Petit cottage super sympa avec coin cuisine. Petit déjeuner fantastique

Great little cottage in the grounds of a lively hotel. Plenty of room two good sized bedrooms bathroom and a kitchen/lounge. Plenty of space and a nice out door seating area. 15 min walk to the city centre.

Great place to stay for ferry port.

Good communication, warm welcome, spotless rooms great breakfast all with on site parking, what more could you want for a short stay?

Lovely cottages with garden

Stayed here over the weekend with my three Girls and my partner, the host was polite and extremely attentive at our needs, sorting the hottub and also returning the arcaic TV, However he deserves to be working in a much better class Of hotel. TheHottub was opened for us, to severe grime and bird poo inside the hottub. the kids were only in for a minute and i think that was too long!! This hottub clearly hadnt been cleaned in weeks and needed emptying and given a deep clean The cottage was run down, mould had taken over the cottage in every crevice and windowsills and could still be seen under the efforts of a recent paint job. The cottage smelt damp and clearly visible, bedding felt damp maybe not given enough time to dry inbetween stays, the permanent bedsheets overhanging the beds were dirty and unwashed and looks like they had been their since 1914 The stain stricken sofabed in the lounge was in a disgusting state and i refused to let my child sleep on it. The bathroom had remnants of the past occupiers with hairs everywhere inside the bath and sink, which needed to be washed out before use! Cobwebs are a regular occurrence in this place and seems like the cleaner lost her duster, every corner, every lamp looked like a screenshot of the film arachnophobia. Besides from that on a good note, the kitchen was new, clean and tidy and we managed to make dinner and breakfast quite easily with the utensils, just a shame the rest of the cottage lets it down.
