Quorn Grange Hotel

We booked a suite for 4 people, however there was a problem with the shower, so they offered us 2 twin joined rooms. They discovered the problem with good notice to inform us before we arrived which was very appreciated. The room was clean and simple although dated and a little tired. Staff were all lovely. We requested an ironing board and iron and champagne flutes which were promptly delivered by the helpful staff. It did however take several attempts at calling down to reception before someone came to the phone. Baked breakfast goods and cereals were basic and simple, yet fresh. There was an option for a cooked breakfast also, which a couple of our party opted for, which was hot, tasty and came promptly. We were the only guests in the dining hall when we came down. The grounds were lovely, and there is a beautiful oak staircase inside which makes for good photos. Would stay again, but I think it was slightly over priced, for what it was.

Freezing cold showers. Loud noises from electrics. Maintenance issues they already knew about but didn’t tell guests. Poor Decor. Evening food however was very good.

Outside hotel looked okay. Plenty of free parking. However, it didn't appear to be particularly busy for a Friday evening. One member of staff on duty at reception who was pleasant and welcoming. Explained everything we needed to know. The room was at the very back of the hotel, which seemed deserted. There was a corner of the corridor which had carpet missing & two partly unfolded "old type" hospital screens hiding nothing in particular. To our right was a large function room with a few tables set for a meal in the furthest reaches of the room. The bedroom was large & furnished at an acceptable level. On entering there was a strong chlorine-like smell which eventually became a strong smell similar to paint. The room was clean. The walls looked almost like new. Painted white, we think that the room may have recently been redecorated, altho' we never enquired. However, the odour caused both myself and my wife to suffer terrible congestion and catarrhal problems which caused sleep disturbance, particularly for me, as I ended up having no sleep from 4am onwards due to continual clearing of catarrh from nose, sinuses and lungs. The carpet in the room seemed to have a yellow to brown staining, some darker areas than others around the bed (my wife suggested it looked like a urine stain). We were surprised to discover that the bathroom had a transparent glass wall and door facing the bed & ground floor window. There was no blind or frosted glass to obscure a person on the toilet.

I arrived pretty late and I was the last one to check in, the lady who assisted me was polite and helpful. My room was smart and warm. By the way parking was a breeze, didn't struggle to get space. Slept well and the hot full English breakfast was a delight to have. Place is cosy, warm, clean and has exceptional staff. 10 out of 10...

An average place due an update, a bit overpriced. An easy walk down to the village centre. A few nice restuarants and pubs.

I appreciate it is an old property with character but it is looking a little dated. I stayed for an evening event and there's were cobwebs and dust in the event room.

Good location accommodation and staff

Warm welcome from the staff and they were very helpful during the stay. Room wasn’t serviced despite leaving the card out. Food quality was excellent. The room was a bit tired but comfortable. Could do with air conditioning

Booked a double and twin room. Twin room had more recently been refurnished, furniture in double was a bit tired. Both rooms were lovely and clean. Beds were comfortable and there was a good choice of hot drinks.

Very friendly. Clean Peaceful. Just what i needed. Would certainly recommend. Value for money. Biggest plus was car parking. Thank you would definitely come again.

Pros: Staff were great, bar was good. Room large, shower great. Cons: Mattress was collapsed in the middle, I slept half the night on the floor, other half with pillows under the mattress. ALL doors had aggressive springs and no sound softening so they all slammed with a bang(ours slammed even when closed it carefully).

Stayed at the hotel as part of a large wedding party where they were getting married nearby… with limited choices of hotels in the area with the size and apparent 8.8 / 10 rating we thought this was a safe option however we have left extremely disappointed. With it being the hottest day of the year on record, checking into our room, window was on restrictors (which we managed to undo after googling the product) and our black out thick blind was broken in the down position therefore getting no air flow. Receptionist was helpful when we called, providing us a desk fan and a make shift solution to get the blind open by wrapping the broken cord round it. No further rooms were available for our stay, not because they were fully booked but they ‘hadn’t been cleaned’! Room was dusty with the phone looking like it’s not been cleaned in years… bathroom was clean however toilet seat cover missing. Warning it is also a big glass box in the room with well placed manifestation for privacy… Throughout the hotel there were signs of major refurbishment required and also building work taking place with a huge hole in the ceiling and flooring missing randomly. Communal male toilets hadn’t been cleaned between Saturday evening and Sunday upon checkout which personally is a huge red flag..! We never complain however we wanted to share this experience and would urge hotels.com to consider their listing on the website as we left extremely dissatisfied especially given the cost.!

The bed was so uncomfortable, sitting on the bed and you end up sitting on the base Not keen on the glass bathrooms , some things are meant to be discreet no privacy in the bathroom

Liked size of hotel ,beautiful grounds,large room and bathroom, quiet, good food though long wait for service.
