Retallack Resort

As advertised, lovely reception staff. We had a small issue getting in the front door, but one call and an onsite maintenance man was there and fixed it!

Cheaper option as booked in January. Cottages are clean, modern and comfortable. On site restaurant was fully booked for both days we were there so book in advance. Easy reach of Padstow, Newquay, Mawgan Porth etc which I think are great in the winter months.

Good in general but the mattress quality was below what we were expecting. Few basic necessities like hand soap in bathrooms were missing. Barns were bit too close to each other which was a surprise.

The site is beautifully kept and very pretty. The accommodation and facilities was clean and well presented, although needed some TLC in places. Great flow rider.We had more than enough space for two adults and two teenagers in a 4 berth lodge and everything we needed. Staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Great lication for visiting the rest of Cornwall. We would definitely visit again.

It was okay, the lodge was warm throughout and it was nice to have a completely separate dwelling from others. The swimming facilities are good. Unfortunately there were a couple of things we had issues with, the cleanliness throughout the lodge was not up to standard; bathroom fixtures were faulty and moving; the lighting in the kitchen/lounge was terrible when it was dark outside, to the point that you couldn't really see what you were doing in the kitchen. A big disappointment was when we decided to go to the onsite restaurant "The Lookout Bar and Eatery" or Catch22; we didn't expect to be impressed and unfortunately it was worse that we could have expected, I ordered our food at 19:10 and we didn't receive our food until 19:50, they were not busy at all, it was only fish and chips they were cold and didn't taste good at all. It isn't unreasonable to expect better service than this at the price they are charging, I didn't complain at the time as our toddler was desperate to eat and it was better than nothing... I wouldn't stay there again.

The accomodation was amazing and the private hot tub the best I have been in. Make sure you take EVERYTHING with you if you plan to cook as absolutely nothing there atall, not even salt and pepper. Very disappointed in the fact the Sauna was not working nd we had not benn informed off this and then when we arrived they closed the gym (one of the reasons I booked this place) to paint it....surely this could haave been done earlier in the year before the park got busy? Several people were there early to use it and no ;luck!!! We left early due to these matters. Also the steam room is in with the pool so you have to book to go in. Not great !!!!

Nice views, quiet, property very clean, staff friendly. Hot tub a nice touch. Only constructive feedback is kitchen needs a little more for families, bigger pots for cooking, bigger colander, microwave, knives should be sharper, very blunt. The oven isn’t the best quality so don’t count on making nice roast dinners.

Incredible few days of rest, self-repair and relaxation! A real treat! Will go again :)

Location near padstow and wildlife on lake

Jenny was brilliant at the Reception desk but 2 of the restaurant staff a male and a female were not friendly.

Fantastic 3 night stay in a 2 bedroom barn as the style of accommodation is called. Exceeded our expectations as it was modern and spotless. It was fitted out like a show home. Nice swimming pool at Retallack although changing rooms could do with a refurbishment. Used the flowrider which is excellent fun. Had a decent meal in the restaurant one night. Would recommend the resort highly and will definitely go back again.

The restaurant on site wasn't really nice, food was average and service wasn't the best.. The resort on himself is great, the lodge was clean and spacious. Staff was really friendly. Unfortunatly, restaurants and shops missing close to the resort.

If your looking for luxury you need to book here we booked it for our daughters 11th birthday, and the lodge was beautiful. The hot tub was lovely and warm and we really enjoyed using the surf stimulator, and going to the onsite bar to enjoy food and drinks which was very nice.

Lovely property modern and clean, great location for Padstow, Wadebridge or Polzeath. Food was ok but could be better, we ordered 4 pizzas and 2 had a burnt base, 1 was completely ruined.

A super stay, especially given the price. Great value

Property was very high quality, made staying through a storm bearable! Hot tub was delightful, can’t wait to stay again next year!

Comfortable and modern apartment with balcony onto lake. Very quiet and pleasant surroundings

Another good stay at Retallack Resort again in a lakeside apartment. Overall happy with the accommodation except for problems with the provided internet. In our apartment this did not work for the entire time we stayed. We did manage to log in via the TV on one evening but then this failed and wouldn’t start again ! Now this might be classed as a nice to have but if a connection is required it’s a real pain and if children were in the accommodation it could be quite stressful……site maintenance and management were of little help and reception could only pass on concerns……so not totally satisfied. Due to location phone signal is poor but that’s not the sites fault …..that’s Cornwall !
