Nice clean accommodation. Very friendly staff. Had pizza one evening which was hot and tasty . Only complaint was that we were staying 2 nights and our room wasnt serviced . The reception team apologised and replenished our tea, coffee and took our rubbish. Sadly we woukd have liked replacement towels as ours on shower floor. Not sure wgat had happened there . Still a good comfortable stay

A word of warning about checking in with the night staff... Upon arrival at the hotel I was asked to pay for the room. I was fairly certain I had already paid, but when I said as much I was told in a condescending tone that there was no card on file and I would have to pay. Being non-confrontational, I paid, and then checked my emails and bank statement when I got to the room. I had been correct, I had already paid, so I went downstairs to try to get a refund for the amount I had just overpaid. The conversation went as such: Me: "I can show you right here a reciept to show that I've paid." Them: "I can show you right here that there is no other card on file", in a mocking tone. I was told that they couldn't issue a refund and I'd have to wait to see a manager in the morning. After a terrible night's sleep thinking about the confrontation and worrying about getting my money back, I went down to the desk and the manager had already issued a refund as soon as she got in. I am grateful for this, and this is the reason they have two stars not one. The hotel itself is perfectly adequate. I suspect this was an issue with having booked through hotels.com, and there could have been a genuine problem with no card on file. What I am unhappy about is the way I was spoken to by the night staff. Don't let this put you off, just come prepared for check-in.

I asked for help to figure out the air con and then all was good. It was a stressful journey, but the staff couldnt have done more to help me have as relaxing an experience as possible. All very good at their jobs and very friendly, nothing was too much bother. I've often stayed in 5 star hotels in my working life, but now I am retired, finding a reasonably priced hotel which provides high quality customer service was a delight. I had my dog at Wear Referrals for surgery and cancer treatment, its an ideal spot to spend the time waiting for them to be ready to come home. Bed was as good as Premier Inn, lovely shower room, just all round a great choice. Security was reassuring as access to the corridors was by key card only, so no one could come in who wasnt a resident. My only slight gripe was the noise closing doors made with other guests, but thats a very small gripe.

The hotel was modern and clean inside but I had a terrible nights sleep due to the very thin walls and noise from some very loud guests.

Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Room was very clean, looked smart and provided very good value for money.

Easy to check in, staff were welcoming, friendly and super-helpful; resetting the air conditioning to heat the room and recommending closest parking in Durham centre for the restuarant I was going to. Room was clean and comfortable. Everything I needed for an overnight stay at a very reasonable price.

Good clean room ideal for one night stop over and very friendly staff

Room was in good condition, water pressure was fine. Car park was large and next to a service station, a Costa and a McDonalds. The hotel was part of services for the A1(M) road, so it was quick and easy to continue our journey in the morning. It was a short drive into Durham for sight-seeing.
