Thank you Anastasia and the rest of the helpful staff! Available constantly and helped with my 10000 questions. Super clean and comfortable. I don't like sharing bathrooms but they are kept clean and my room was near a "luxurious" one. Everything you need is in the common areas, which makes you feel more connected to others. Restaurant and service AMAZING. I loved the reindeer steak. Breakfast included= needed and fantastic way to start your day in the arctic.

Such a charming, cool place to stay. I stayed there during Christmas and the Christmas decorations outside were amazing The exterior and interior in general is full of interesting details . I stayed in a single room with shared bath, and it was never a queue to the bathroom. But the walls are very thin, so you can hear a lot of sounds from your neighbours, when they open and close the doors, walk in the corridor, talk on the phone...whatever, you will hear it. It was still calm enough during the night, so I slept ok. They provide complimentary earplugs in the reception and are aware of the challenge with lack of soundproofed rooms. I understand that they want to keep the place authentic and my overall experience of my stay was still very positive even if I am quite noise sensitive. Nice staff, good breakfast in the wonderful Vinterhagen full of plants, and a cosy livingroom where you can sit and read a book or maybe get to know some new people from all around the world. Also nice that they have a kitchen where you can make your own food. 6-7 minutes walk to the city of Longyearbyen. If you want a unique hotel experience and are prepared that the rooms themselves are of basic standard, I very much recommend polarriggen. Here you get the bonus of experiencing all that other stuff this place has to offer, as it is a place with soul, athmosphere, history and creativity in every corner.

Nice and quirky place which felt like an arctic museum. Good breakfast, great wifi, friendly staff, close to walk into town, airport shuttle picks up and drops off in front of hotel, clean & safe. Highly recommend this place and especially if on a budget.

This type of property isn’t for everyone. But for the type of people who seek a unique style of accommodation, this property is for you. The staff, the ones I interacted with, were very friendly and helpful. The room I selected was exactly what I needed. No luxuries just the minimum for what I needed. I would return to this property again and will suggest it to anyone I know wishing to travel to Longyearbyen. Thank you for an amazing trip of a lifetime.

Supermysigt hotell med bra mat och trevlig personal.

Buffet breakfast is excellent and one can load up and skip lunch. However, they have lunch specials which are also worthwhile . The best vegetarian lasagna I have ever had, any where. And the restaurant itself is charming, full of plants and friendly atmosphere.

Wonderful stay, good location and breakfast offered has lots of options

I love Mary Ann's Polarrig in Longyearbyen. I had one of the best salmon dinners I have ever had last night. And I have had quite a few good ones around the Arctic. They have updated a few of the bathrooms since I was here before.

We had a great stay. The bath was a little bit tiny but everythlng necessary was in. The breakfast was marvellous, a great variety and very delicious.

The rooms are basic but the living room and the shared amenities are excellent and very comfortable. The restaurant has good local foods like reindeer and seal and other options and is very nice.

Nice staff, very helpful. Good free breakfast. They do everything for you to feel at home.

Fantastic, quirky, friendly! The meal at the restaurant was the best I had in Longyearbyen and also in recent memory (try the whale steak!). Wonderful breakfast spread, comfy waiting area / common room. Highly recommendable.

Fabulous atmosphere at this hotel - it is as though you are one of a science team or early explorers - however these modular type bedrooms have no sound protection and the black out drapes were not sufficient! But the restaurant was delightful with exquisite food - just make to book a reservation early!!

Perfect location. Out of main area but only 5 minute walk to ‘town’. Great breakfasts and a restaurant connected to hotel which is also excellent!

Like living in a museum. You get an idea of how it was to work as a coal miner and an insight into the harsh arctic conditions. Cosy premisis and super nice bar and restaurant.
