Ironwood Hotel

Nice clean hotel. Great for late flight layovers or early morning departures.

The hotel was modern and clean. Both restaurants were very good. Ruth at the front desk was very helpful and Chester made an excellent cafe mocha. We did not care for the restroom. The only place to hang your towel was inside the shower, no hooks, nowhere to place toiletries, no counter space around the sink.

No, I called them to cancel and move the dates due to major typhoon here in Leyte and beyond. They would not bend with me nor with the Expedia representative. Thus I lost out on the money. They knew the typhoon was a catastrophe.

Staff was very helpful from the front desk to the restaurant and housekeeping department. Mervyn, Angelyn and Hannah were the best.

Staff are great, professional and friendly. Breakfast was good but weird I have to ask for drinks. Not an issue though. Can't really think of any complaints since they also have Netflix. 😂 Just a lovely and comfortable place to stay and a feeling of safety specially since there was a typhoon warning when we checked in and they locked down the building in anticipation. They offer airport shuttle for 600 php, when available. Moving around the city is quite easy and convenient as well. Highly recommended since the restaurant at the top floor is also high end albeit lacking on service skills training. The restaurant itself is 8/10 for me. Still delicious and lovely decor.

Other than the unannounced construction that’s causing a bit of noise in the morning, had a good time staying in this hotel. Staff are helpful, room is great. I had a spacious and pleasantly decorated one.

Not one thing bad could I say about this place. My only go to when I’m tacloban. I am currently in a luxury hotel in Manila for the week and it doesn’t even come close to the way I feel when at the ironwood.

I love this place and have stayed there numerous times in the last 3 years when I am in Tacloban. I will not book anywhere else. Of course I know every experience is different depending on the person but, I know every time I am there I am treated with smiles and respect. They even greet me by my first name and also ask about my family when I am not traveling with them.

Great modern hotel in downtown Tacloban. Probably more on the business traveler friendly spectrum. We still really enjoyed the hotel is so clean and modern. Fantastic breakfast. The staff are world class service. Few hotels are at this level. Do not miss out on experiencing this place

Since they renovated the property, I think the property is the best one in Tacloban. I would love them give them the absolute best review ever, because the rooms are really amazing and the staff is really amazing. There are two issues that they really need to work on. The restaurant did not have many of the items on the menu. They had no pizzas, they had no sandwiches. Some of the drinks we wanted they didn’t have. The dining experience was annoying although the dining staff are very, very nice. The other issue is their Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is basically worthless. I used up my international plan on my phone every five days which got very expensive. Their Wi-Fi pretty much provides no Internet almost all the time. Again, the staff really is helpful, they’re the best people I’ve been countered in the Philippines. It’s unfortunate that they’re just a couple of areas that really need work in that hotel. Hopefully, The owner will step up and figure these things out.
