Fortaleza Suites

We were pretty disappointed in this place. It doesn’t look anything like the pictures. It’s old and tired. Rooms have no windows, which is odd. All the rooms appeared to be on the ground floor and the small, tiled hallway is loud when anyone is talking or going in and out of their rooms at all hours. The staff was nice. I wouldn’t go back to this hotel. Definitely not worth $200+ we paid.

Hotel was unique and location was great, but room location off lobby was loud, door and window needed weather stripping for sound and light from lobby. There were no amenities. Bed was very uncomfortable and bathroom arrangement was very odd.

We just needed a hotel room to crash because our flight arrived really late. The bathroom could use some updating. It was clean. The doors have glass so your room is never dark because the light from the hallway reflects into your room for the price. Honestly, I was a little bit disappointed.

This is a hidden gem in Old San Juan. The room was SPACIOUS, well appointed and reflected classic Puerto Rico style. Our room had a stove, full size fridge, great air-conditioning,Nice bathroom with a shower that never ran out of hot water. They have some common areas with seating, coffee, ice, and vending machine that was reasonable. It is on Fortaleza street so evenings were a bit noisy but i live in the city so nothing too bad.

Zero hot water and completely underestimated how loud the street would be. If you want to party in old San Juan until 3am this is a great place to stay. However if you are a family of 5 this is probably not the right spot.

Restaurants close by. Very cute hotel, with everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay.

There were a lot of things in the area which made walking doable. For example restaurants, street vendors, jewlery shops, etc. and even if some things weren’t you could always uber which didn’t cost much unless the place was 30+ min away. The only thing that is a down to this property is the fact that the street is right in front of your room so sleeping can be an issue if you’re a very light sleeper. The honking, yelling, and music did wake me up a few times but my stay was still great.

The place overpass my expectations. The staff were ultra friendly and helpful. Perfect location to explore Old San Juan. We were able to walk to near attractions, restaurants and stores.

We love this hotel and return to it annually :)

Room

Very centrally located, couldn’t have asked for a better location. Street was a little noisy on the Saturday at night but we didn’t mind, and it wasn’t as noisy the following night but just to be aware of. Would highly recommend this place if you want to explore all that old San Juan has to offer. We enjoyed walking to both Castillos, which were only a few minutes away. Felt very safe at night walking, plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops just feet away. The kitchen was very well stocked and as a family made cooking very easy.

Staff was great- but room itself was less than satisfactory. Outlets in bathroom did not work and most lights didn’t work either. Pricey for what we got.

Front desk staff was incredible and super helpful!

All the staff I’d met were so amazing and kind, always willing to help. The hotel's location was central to everything in Old San Juan and a short walk to the parking garages if you do have a car.

Advertisement of room deceiving. Our room was very tiny. Bathroom in need of updating. Faucet and toilet seat loose. The room needs more Electrical outlets.

This place was ok for a short stay. Great location.

The property is in a prime area. Close to shops and entertainment. However the rooms were very loud. The light in the hallway filtered into the bedroom so you can’t get a good night sleep. I would recommend black out curtains and reinforcing quiet time between 10-6.

This property is old and has not been updated in eons. For the price paid I expected better. The toilet seat was loose. The hot and cold water handles or loose, this shower controls were loose, they were cracks in the shower wall, the layout of the bathroom was wonky. Bottom line this property is an older property with no current upgrades and should be priced as such.

Great location for old San juan

Room number 3 is located directly across from the open seating area and kitchen. Feels like the people outside are directly in your room. The 10 pm to 8 am quiet time is not enforced making sleep almost impossible. No window in the room and a bathroom that is Badly in need of refurbishment topped it off. badly in need of ref
