Britannia Hotel Edinburgh

The room was basic, but good for the price and location. The hotel has a older feel about it, certainly due an updgrade. I felt the staff attitude could have been better. Upon check-in I asked about parking and was told I could only park for 24 hours from check-in. However, I parked my car and told I could park until check-in and pay upon check-in. I was also told I could pay for an additional 24 hours. However, this was not what I was told upon check-in and had to challenge the host to be able to park for what I had be told I could. Please make your policies clear and consistent!

Right from the moment we entered the room, there was a strong, unpleasant smell that stayed throughout our entire stay. There were also strange stains on the bathroom countertop, which didn’t give a good impression of cleanliness. The walls were extremely thin — we could hear conversations from people down the corridor and directly outside our room. We could also hear other room doors opening and closing, which made it hard to relax. The stay was mostly fine, but the noise early in the morning was a big issue. From around 6am, as our room was next to the lifts, we could hear loud clattering and banging, as well as staff talking while cleaning rooms on the floor. There was also a lot of noise from guests entering and leaving with their suitcases. Overall, the noise levels and cleanliness issues really affected the experience.

Horrible service. My flight was delayed and when I came to the hotel they said they had marked me as «no show» and if I wanted to stay I had to pay for a room again. I had booked 5 nights and lost all of them. I tried to call them to notify in advance, but no one picked up. I even messaged them through Hotels.com. Stay away from this hotel if there is a chance your flight is delayed because you will lose your entire booking. I had to find another hotel at the middle of the night when I arrived, and their staff was very rude and insensitive to my situation.

Staff were excellent. Room upgrade as lift to our room not working due to mobility problems. Free disabled parking and excellent value for money in central Edinburgh

Du får vad du betalar för. Slitet hotell med stark lukt av rengöringsmedel. Städning sker enbart om du vistats där i 4nätter. I övrigt sår du kasta dina sopor och hämta toalettpapper och handdukar själv. Rummet var hyfsat rent och personalen var trevliga

Nice room, friendly staff

The room was big and clean, the only think I would suggest is to educate the staff on costumer service. Not a single "Welcome" "how can I help"... not even a "sorry" when the member of staff couldnt find my reservation just a blunt "I cant find your reservation"...

Staff rude

Mattress was awful- springs worn and felt like sleeping on bricks. Toilet did not flush. Shower was awful and went everywhere. Whole place smelt like mould. Rooms were old. Wifi did not work. Parking was very limited and the middle of a construction site and had to pay almost £8 for one day. Kettle was disgusting. House keeping came before 9am. Not worth the money at all. Needs some serious TLC. Book elsewhere.

The parking was fine but the room had a lot of mold. The mold was all around the window and in the shower.

Hotel a soli 5 minuti a piedi dal centro più economico di Edinburgo ultimamente che nonostante i prezzi più bassi,riesce a garantire standard di qualità medio alti.Bravi!

For the price it was well worth a 4 the £20 dinner was good

When I tried to check in the staff wanted Photo ID which i did not have and they staff were particularly unhelpful.
