The Riverside Hotel

Overall a very pleasing breakaway from stressful and busy days.. Lovely view of the Blue lagoon area, the City skyline. Beauty of nature can also be enjoyed, many birds nestle in the trees on site. Clean, comfortable and convenient room, facilities were adequate, could possibly offer more options on TV.

A very nice hotel indeed. Very good facilities, the details with fridge, microwave and safe in the room makes a big difference if you stay for more than a couple of days. Room and bed spacey and comfy. Hotel relaxing and quiet with only the odd Saturday evening party. And a wonderful view over Durban, Umgeni river and the Indian ocean, all at once if your room face South. They were installing a new WiFi and it was big problem getting a good enough signal. Very disappointing but when they get it to work there is nothing to complain about at this hotel. Beware that unfortunately Durban is not safe to wander about by yourself. If you travel alone you will need to get transports to get out. The hotel will help you (including the airport). There are no public transports in Durban and you cannot take a walk out from the hotel alone. The hotel is situated on the north side of Durban. It is walking distance to the northern parts of Durban beach down to Suncoast Casino area but not further. But you need company if you want to walk over there anyway. I travelled alone and found this hotel perfect to stay in. But needed some planning to get around, couldn't just wander out with my camera spontaneously. I would definitely come back to this hotel again, and recommend it to others.
