The hotel is updated and well appointed. The rooms are small but optimized with storage. We had adjacent rooms with our teenage girls that connected along the outside balconies. The hotel is near the train station which was great upon arrival and departure. There is minimal noise from the train station that I only heard when the balcony door was ajaf. So, if you are a light sleeper, then request a room away from that section. The staff and breakfast were great.

We stayed at Hotel Ambassador several years ago during COVID and felt it was only fair to give it another try. This trip was especially meaningful because we were celebrating our honeymoon, but unfortunately nothing was done to make the stay feel special, even after we mentioned the occasion to staff. Check-in was also disappointing. We arrived an hour early after 24 hours of travel and were told to return at the normal check-in time, which we completely understood. However, when we came back, our room still wasn’t ready. The “five minute wait” turned into an hour. We were also told our luggage would be waiting in the room, but when we arrived it wasn’t there. Only half of our bags were delivered after we called, and I eventually had to go downstairs to retrieve the rest because staff didn’t know which bags were ours. I also left an item on the breakfast table and was disappointed to learn that it was either discarded or stolen from lost and found bc it was left on the counter for anyone to grab. Breakfast itself did not feel like 4 star quality and felt more in line with a 2–3 star hotel. We also paid extra for a “Matterhorn view,” but the view was minimal and not worth the upgrade. On a positive note, the staff members were very friendly, and the location of the hotel was great. If we were to go back to Zermatt again, we’d definitely opt to stay somewhere else.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Ambassador Zermatt for 3-nights. The location is walkable distance to everything, and less than a 5 minute walk from the main train station. The property is clean, the staff was extremely friendly, and we loved having breakfast before starting our day on the slopes. Know that the sauna has limited hours, closing at 8pm. And most restaurants don't open for dinner until 6pm. We did not use the on-site restaurant but it looked really nice. Our room was great for the four of us, a 2-bedroom unit with a balcony towards the mountains with a Matterhorn view. We would absolutely stay here again. The price was just right and the location can't be beat. The walk to the Sunnegga-Rothorn tunnel entrance was about 10 minutes. There are two green bus stops 1 block away. Taxi services are available all around town and take card payments.

Great views

広々したリビングと落ち着いた寝室で素晴らしかったです。リビングのバルコニーからマッターホルンが見え、寝室のバルコニーから町の可愛い景色が見えました。バスルームはとても近代的でした。

Pretty hotel in the centre of Zermatt. The hotel facilities were great, really happy with the pool and sauna. Nearby dining options were plenty and great quality. Didn’t initially know Zermatt was car free but the shuttle from Täsch was easy and there was plenty of parking.
