Lovely hotel, very picturesque. Clean facilities and very helpful and accommodating staff. Would very happily stay again :)

This property is in a wonderful setting, and has an excellent spa, one of the best I have ever used. The public areas are nicely decorated, and it is clean. HOWEVER - do not stay here! The bedroom we were given was well below standard. Peeling paint, rusty radiators with no thermostats, and a bathroom which was frankly dangerous. No toiletries provided, an overbath shower with no grab rails and a slippery floor. Very few plugs, and difficult to dry hair near a mirror. We had documentation to prove we had booked a superior room, which they refused to honour, although I had paid a supplement. Food on the Sunday night was awful as the bread in the sandwich was stale, although things improved on the next night. Impossible to sit in the bar area as music very loud. Generally this is just poor or lazy management. Clearly they are pretty much a function only hotel, and resent people booking through Expedia as ' normally they charge much more' If that is their attitude, better just stay elsewhere!

The hotel has a welcoming traditional vibe as you enter through mature gardens to a courtyard with a fountain. Our room was a very good size with a comfortable bed, dressing room and a proper full sized bath. There is a choice of modern or traditional. Breakfast was nice, a good cooked breakfast and fresh fruit was a plus, although some cold items had not been replenished and there was no choice of yoghurt. The spa was a plus with a pool jacuzzi etc. Some parts of the building are a little tired but the main areas are bright and comfortable. I’m sure the new owners will be working on these. The staff were friendly and professional, we would definitely like to return.

The hotel is in a nice location Gym and pool looked good but we didn't have time to use them. The hotel in general could do with a refurb We had a superior room It was a good size but furniture old fashioned & shabby. Our main oomplaints No heating in our room 1st night really cold but came on other 2. No heat at all in restaurant so really chilly. Hot food cold at breakfast.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful setting. Both hotel and spa reception staff were friendly. Breakfast was self service and more than adequate. We booked a superior double room but unfortunately this didn't meet the expectations given form the reviews published. At checkout I was asked about our stay and mentioned that, although a cost was involved, the flat pillows, very thin duvet and mattress were disgraceful for any hotel and should have been replaced some time ago. I was informed the General Manager might telephone me but as yet I haven't heard anything.

Food was very good, staff knew and some need more training instead of just standing around. The bathroom could do with an upgrade very tired

Lovely room and setting needs refurbishment, re-carpeting and redecoration in parts. Could be outstanding with some investment in updating decor and staff training.

Good points: nice staff, good sized pool. Bed made each day. Nice courtyard area outside. Good sized room. Not so good: stained mattress in ‘ superior room and furniture that really needs replacing. Tea and coffee at breakfast was lukewarm at best. The showers in the pool area had to be held on as the water would only run for a few seconds. I understand about economy with water but it made it very difficult to shower properly. There was absolutely no information about the local area or nearby attractions in the room.

This is probably the best hotel we have stayed at for many years. From the moment we arrived at reception the staff were always on hand if you needed anything. Every member was courteous, friendly and professional, always checking if we needed anything to make our stay more pleasant. Our room was a Superior double and had a beautiful view and was cleaned everyday. There was a wide choice of foods on the menu, which was excellent and they have an amazing chef. We were there to attend a residential weekend where we sang at a concert on the Sunday afternoon, and even here the staff were on hand to ensure everything was provided in time. We managed to visit the hotel’s spa which is a must for anyone who chooses to stay at this hotel. Thank you to all staff.

The most beautiful hotel Iv ever stayed, staff amazing and spa was astounding, room beautiful and surrounding gardens idilic, breakfast did not dissapoint. Staff and manager all excellent

Had a lovely stay. Really nice relaxing atmosphere and location. Limited menu, ordered steak. Wife ordered well done arrived rare. Retuned steak,came back full of fat. Mine was almost blue, ordered medium rare.They took off service charge for our dissatisfaction then tried to get it back at checkout. Lack of communication and refresher for chef needed. The bed in the supreme room was two mattresses together. The interior is tired and needs a lot of tlc. Staff were great, very attentive and professional. Wife really enjoyed her spa experience. For all this we will be returning and I would recommend.

Situated in a nice area. Lovely grounds. Room 21, 2 cracks in window glass, missing window handle, bedside lamps need replacing as looked battered, wardrobe door on left side door handle missing. This was reported to reception on arriving to the room.and a member of staff did come to the room and mentioned that they had not been informed of these issues by housekeeping. Room was tired in appearance but clean. Breakfast limited on choice of selection of hot food. Overall an average stay.

We stayed here when we went to see Oasis. It’s a beautiful hotel at a very reasonable price.

We arrived and looked stunning from the outside reception was lovely Then the hallway to the room was ripped and dirty The room carpet was stained and ripped and just looked dirty The bathroom was not the cleanest mould all around the bathroom For what they charge it was very overpriced and the drinks were extremely expensive The food in the bar was very basic and again over priced It said about making sure the shower curtain was in the bath before showering We never had a shower it had been taken off the wall Breakfast was ok but everything was just warm Was supposed to have been a treat away Could not wait to get home to a clean house Would we stay again NO
